Открытый урок "What are the British like"

Цели: работа над формированием навыка разговорной речи.

Задачи:

• прививать интерес к культуре изучаемого языка;
• практиковать учащихся во всех видах речевой деятельности в работе в группах;
• развивать речевые умения по теме;
• обобщение, систематизация и анализ полученных знаний.

Учебник: Кузовлев, Лапа “EnglishVIII”.

Учебные пособия: презентация Power Point по теме “ British people”, задания для учащихся, учебник.

Аппаратное обеспечение: компьютеры, видеопроектор.

ХОД УРОКА

1. Организационный момент.

- Good morning, dear friends I am glad to see you. I wish us a good work.

2. T. Phonetic drills. Прочитайте цифры в данной таблице на английском языке.

3. Описание британцев.

T. Describe the British using such words like, drink, fish and cheeps, polite, dogs, conservative, Miss Maple.

P-I think that British people are conservative.

P-The British like to drink tea.

P-I am not sure, but I think all British women look like Miss Maple.

P-The British like to eat fish and cheeps.

P-Many people think that the British are well-mannered and polite.

P-I think the English like their dogs most of all.

4. Ознакомьтесь с мнением других людей, посмотрите как оно изменилось после посещения Великобритании.

Here is what person in different countries think about the British. Ex. 2.3) p.15.

Interpret an opinion poll with a help of these phrases

Before going to Britain…had thought that…

After visiting Britain…changed their minds.

More/less people began to believe that…

5. Ответьте на дополнительные вопросы.

Do you know any English person?

What is he like?

What stereo types about Englishmen does this picture suggest?

Use the words: an English writer, “Jungle book”, moustache.

6. Ex.7. p. 17.

Прочитайте текст и заполните таблицу характеристиками.

Your work will be organized  in groups of 5 pupils. You have to choose a group leader to conduct the work.

After each part of work every group will fill in the table with characteristics.

7. Работа с подстановочной таблицей Ex.8. p18.

Which characteristics of the British have been noticed by different people?

8. Познакомьтесь с правилом на стр. 189.

9. Групповая работа.

Первая группа работает с презентацией по британцам, вторая - с русскими, а затем после демонстрации своей презентации сравнивают её с оригиналом демонстрируемым учителем. После сравнения, можно предложить ребятам сделать сравнительную характеристику двух народов, выведя общие качества и заполнив таблицу.
