Ход урока
Teacher: Today we have a lesson devoted to the great theme of Love. To name today's lesson I used the words of a nice English proverb "Where Love Is All Is”
Is it an actual topic for you, teenagers, young generation?
P1, P2, P3…
Teacher: Love has inspired many poets and writers. This wonderful feeling play an important part in human life and for this very reason it could not but be played upon in many idioms and proverbs. Some of them can be found in different languages. For example "Love Is Blind". Others are specific to a certain language. Let's look at some British and American idioms with the word "Love". (Учитель раздает карточки (Приложение 1); после выполнения 1-й части, идиомы заполняются в предложениях задания второй части – Приложение 2; затем проверяются задания двух частей.)
Teacher: And now let's define points of our discussion with English proverbs and sayings about love. Take sheet of paper №3, read proverbs, poems, quotations, classify them into 3 groups and title them. (Учащиеся читают пословицы, высказывания, стихи, склассифицированные в три группы. Учительница с помощью учащихся выстраивает их на доске. Приложение 3).
Love is the foundation of our life. It has many aspects: love of our mother and to our mother; love to our Motherland; love of a man to a woman.
So, the first point of our discussion is Love of our Mother and to our Mother. To each of us our mother is the dearest person. She is near us when we are small children and she is always ready to help us when we become older. I always tried to be a friend and just mother to my daughter. But she wanted me to be just mother. I'd like to know what do you think, how your love to your mothers big is.
Р1Р2… (Учащиеся высказываются по очереди, приводят примеры из литературы, возможно читают свои собственные стихи, посвященные мамам).
Teacher: I see, you love your mothers very much. Be very attentive to your mothers, don't feel shy to demonstrate your love to them not to regret in future, try to make your mothers happy as often as possible. Now I would like to recite a poem by Tatianicheva as a warning to you.
В угоду женщине неумной
Он то не замечает мать,
А то вдруг мелочно и шумно
Её возьмется укорять
За то, что расшумелись дети,
И пригорело молоко.
Не потому ль она в ответе,
Что обижать её легко.
Она все стерпит без упрека
Не проклиная, не грозя
И только раньше срока
Закроет добрые глаза.
И сыну станет всё постыло,
Поймёт он подавляя стон,
Обид, что мать ему простила,
Себе простить не сможет он.
Now, take triangles and do next work (Приложение 4). The task is on the other side.
Pupils. Выполняют задание.
Teacher. O'K, thank you. Let's read, what you've written. They'll be, I think, your poems, devoted to your mothers.
Pupils. Читают свои сочинения.
Teacher: (под мелодию песни "С чего начинается Родина") You know the English word "Motherland". It consists of 2 words ."mother" and "land". It is, I think, the mother's land. Now, as you guessed, let's discuss what our Motherland begins with and how we must love it.
There a lot of examples of people's demonstration in the past, at present their true love to their Motherland.
What can you tell?
P1, P2, P3... Marthin Luther King...
Teacher. Decembrists are an excellent example of true love to motherland. Why do you think 5 of them were hung, the others were exiled to the harsh winters of Siberia, slated to work and wither in a prison-mine? For what? It was a tragic final.
Teacher. Yes, they were real sons of their Motherland.
Let me not to the of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or tends with the remover to remove:
Oh, no! It is an ever-fixed mark.
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark.
Whose worth's unknown, although
His height be taken".
These lines were written by W. Shakespeare, the author of one of the most famous love stories in the world - the story of Romeo and Juliet.
Now we'll watch and dramatize an episode from the film "Romeo and Juliet". I think this film helps us to feel the atmosphere of 2 young people's love.
Pupils. (Драматизируют диалог между Ромео и Джульеттой на балконе, одновременно смотрят эту сцену). Приложение 5.
Teacher. It's really a great love. Love... Many people ask: "What is love like?" What is love like? Could you answer?
Pupils. Love is... (Дают определения, своё мнение, приводят цитаты, читают стихи).
Teacher. There are а lot of love songs, poems and films. "Love is giving", "True love" What does it mean? To answer this question let's read a story "The Two Gifts" by a famous American writer O'Henry. (Приложение 6).
- Look through the story. (Учащиеся просматривают текст).
- Find the sentences from the text (Учитель зачитывает начало, или конец, или середину предложения; а учащиеся - находят в тексте эти предложения и зачитывают их).
- Look through the story once again (учащиеся просматривают текст ещё раз).
- Answer the questions:
- Where did Jim and Delia live in?
- How old were they?
- Was there enough money in the house?
- What were the 2 possessions of the couple in which they both took a mighty pride?
- What did Delia want to give Jim as a New Year present?
- Did they have money for the presents?
- What did Jim and Delia do to get money for presents?
- Divide the text into parts and title them, using the sentences from the text.
- Jim and Delia were very poor.
- It was the Eve of New Year's Day
- She stopped before a sign and read the words ...
- She found it at last.
- He drew a package from his overcoat pocket and put it on the table.
- Now try to retell the text. (Часть учащихся готовят пересказ текста, часть - готовят обсуждение текста с анализом об истинной любви)
Teacher. Yes, I think you are right. Now let's relax. Listen to a song "And I love her" and fill in the missing words. (Приложение 7)
Pupils. Слушают и заполняют пропуски, затем поют.
Teacher. True love. What is it? Could you give your examples from literature, may be your own experience ?
Pupils. Приводят примеры.
Teacher. Now let's come back to the film "The Captivating Star of Happiness”. I would like to have a discussion about true love, about Decembrists' wives, who followed after their husbands to the harsh winters of Siberia.
The first episode "The dialogue between general and E.Trubetskaya" What can you tell about this remarkable woman? What are your views?
Pupils. Учащиеся высказываются.
Teacher. And last episode "The princes Volconskaya's meeting with her husband. Silent episode. A brave woman is standing on her knees and kissing husband's chains. What does the director want to show and tell us.
Pupils. Высказываются.
Teacher. Love is life main principle. Everything in life depends on it: relations in the family, success in work, even people's health. One of the main features and manifestations of true love is generosity and self-sacrifice. The more a person gives to others, the richer and happier she/he becomes. True love can overcome all hardships, all misfortunes of life, and lasts to the edge of doom in spite of everything.
В конце урока учащиеся поют песню из кинофильма “Ромео и Джульетта”. (Приложение 8)
