Unit 4: “Faces of London”
Objectives: to develop students’ cultural awareness, to motivate their communicational abilities and to practice students in different types of speech activities.
Aids: computer, projector, the map of London, pictures with the sights of London.

3. Map’s excursion. | To teach students to use the map of London, to check up the understanding. | Students follow the route of the excursion on the map and name the sights of London in the pictures. |
4. Reading and post-reading tasks. | To practice students in reading for specific information. | Students read the text about some sights of London (Section 3 ex.16) and do the tasks that follow (ex. 17,18 – finding specific information). |
5. Stimulus-based discussion. | To teach students to express their thoughts and opinions. | Students tell what sights of London they would like to visit and why. |
6. Test. | To check students’ progress. | Students match the pictures with the names of the sights of London (см. рисунок 1). |
