(Презентация, слайд 19,20)
- Reporter -first of all when did you decide to explore new lands?
- Przhevalsky –Oh let me see.
- Ever since I was a child, I have always wanted to explore far away lands.
- Reporte r-Our readers want to know how many expeditions did you make?
- Przhevalsky –Personally I have made 4 expeditions to east and central Asia
- Reporter - oh it’s very interesting. And…How much time of your life did you spend travelling?
- Przhevalsky about 11 years
- Reporter -What places did you visit?
- Przhevalsky -Well. On my first expedition I traveled from Irkutsk to central Siberia. I saw Lake Baikal, visited Urga, crossed Mongolia and the Gobi and into China.
- Reporter -Is it true that you covered quite a distance of the equator in all your expeditions?
Listen to the dialogue and check.
- Przhevalsky-… You are right. In all my expeditions I covered a distance of 31000 kilometres Quite. a distance when you think that the equator-the circumference of the earth- a little over 40000km.
- Reporter - but…Were your expeditions only about traveling?
- Przhevalsky - of course not. I made maps of the places I visited, brought back new plants and discovered animals we had not seen before.
- Reporte r-And what about a new horse?
- Przhevalsky -Yes… I discovered the camel, but it is the horse that made me famous. It is small, about size of a pony. Its coat is a red colour, but its mane and tail. are dark. It has a white nose, a long face and a very strong lower jaw.
- Reporter -And finally What did you think about your work?
- Przhevalsky -I hope that my expeditions have added to our knowledge of the geography of Asia. It is amazing that people are talking about naming a lake, a mountain, a glacier, animals and plants, even a city after me.
