Br. Rabbit: I’m Brother Rabbit. I have got many friends. I have got many adventures. Once I…
Br. Bear: Better show than say.
Br. Rabbit: OK. Listen to our story, please.
Br. Fox: Sing with us! Laugh with us!
Br Wolf: Be happy!
(Уходят)
Teacher: Разрешите представить вам сегодняшних ведущих. Они помогут нам в спектакле. Если будет что-то непонятное, они объяснят.
1-й вед.: А вы знаете, почему у кролика такие длинные уши и короткий хвост?
2-й вед.: Конечно же нет!
1-й вед.: Вот об этом и будет наш первый рассказ.
2-й вед.: Когда-то Братец Кролик и Братец Лис были лучшими друзьями.
1-й вед.: Они вместе охотились, ходили в гости, но однажды…
2-й вед.: Однажды они пошли на охоту, никого не поймали, но проголодались.
1-й вед.: Сели на берегу речки и…
2-й вед.: Вот посмотрите, что произошло.
At the bank of the river
Бр. Кролик (с короткими ушами и длинным пушистым хвостом) и Бр. Лис сидят на сцене,опустив ноги в зал (это - река).
Br. Rabbit, Br. Fox (поют): Hey, ho, nobody home;
Meat or drink or money have I none,
Yet will I be merry.
Br. Fox: I’m hungry. I want to eat.
Br. Rabbit: Look! There is a lot of fish in the river. Let us catch some!
Br. Fox: I haven’t got a fishing rod! Have you?
Br. Rabbit: No. But I have a hook. Have you got a piece of string?
Br. Fox: No. Let us tie the hook to your tail!
Br. Rabbit: Why not to yours, I wonder?
Br. Fox: My tail is too short. Your tail is longer than mine. Could you do that for me? I want to eat! I’m dying from hunger! Will you let me die?
Br. Rabbit: OK. Let’s tie the hook to my tail.
(Под сценой появляется Крокодил. Он хватает Кролика за хвост)
Br. Rabbit: Brother Fox! There is a fish on the hook and a big one, too! Help me, please!
Br. Fox: That’s not a fish! It’s a big crocodile! He has your tail in his mouth!
Br. Rabbit: Help me! Help me! Heeeeeeeeeeelp!
Br Fox (тянет кролика за уши): You are coming, Brother Rabbit, you are coming!
Br. Rabbit: Not me, Brother Fox, but my ears! Pull, Brother Fox, pull! Pull!
(Хвост отрывается. Крокодил уходит с хвостом.)
Br. Rabbit: Look! What have you done? Is that fine?
Br. Fox: Ha! Ha! Ha! The racoon’s tail is ringed around,
The opossum’s tail is bare.
The rabbit’s got no tail at all,
But a little bunch of hair!
Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho!
But a little bunch of hair!
Br. Rabbit: No funny! I’m not your friend any more! I won’t believe false friends as long as
I live!
(Curtain)
1-й вед.: Рассердился Братец Кролик на Братца Лиса.
2-й вед.: Ещё бы! Потерять такой чудный хвостик!
Из зала: Я не совсем поняла, что за дразнилку пел Братец Лис.
1-й вед.: А ты спроси у него.
Из зала: Hey, Brother Fox! What is your song about?
Br Fox: (высовывается из-за занавеса): О чём песенка? Это я сам придумал.У всех есть хвосты, а у кролика не хвост , а одно название!
Из зала: Thank you for the explanation.
Br Fox: Don’t mention it! Good-bye!
Из зала: Good- bye!
Появляется Братец Кролик.
Из зала: Brother Rabbit is coming! Hey! Where is your tail?
Братец Кролик: Смейтесь, смейтесь! Как будто не знаете, что Братец Лис был верховой лошадью моего дорогого дедушки!
Все: Что?
Братец Кролик: А потом ему дали вольную. По старости.
Все: О!
Братец Кролик: И вообще, в субботу я поеду в гости к Матушке Медоуз на Братце Лисе.
Правда, он староват немного, но ничего, выдержит.
Все: О!
Братец Кролик уходит.
(За сценой голос Братца Лиса: Что? Верховой лошадью?!)
Бр. Лис (высовывается): Кто это сказал?!
Все: Братец Кролик!
Бр. Лис: В субботу, у Матушки Медоуз, я заставлю его взять свои слова обратно!
At Brother Rabbit’s
1-й вед.: Наступила суббота.
( За сценой слышны стоны Братца Кролика.)
2- вед.: Как то вывернется наш Братец Кролик? Слышите? Стонет, бедняга.
1- вед.: Заболел, наверно.
Открывается занавес. Братец Кролик сидит в кресле, укутанный в плед, стонет.
Br. Fox: Tap-tap-tap. Are you sleeping, are you sleeping,
My dear friend, my dear friend,
Morning bells are ringing, morning bells are ringing,
Ding, ding, dong.
Br. Rabbit: Who is there?
Br. Fox: It’s me, your best friend, Brother Fox!
Br. Rabbit: Oh, I am alone at home and I’m so ill! Call the doctor, please! Call him quickly, Brother Fox!
Br. Fox: Brother Rabbit, Mrs. Meadows is going to have a party. All the animals are there and
I have just promised to bring you.
Br. Rabbit: Oh, I’m too ill. I’m dying.
Br. Fox: You don’t say so!
Br. Rabbit: I can’t walk.
Br. Fox: I’ll carry you.
Br. Rabbit: But you are sure to drop me!
Br. Fox: I promise you to be careful.
Br. Rabbit: No, no. If only you could carry me on your back…
Br. Fox: OK. I’ll carry you on my back.
Br Rabbit: But I can’t ride without a saddle.
Br. Fox: I have got a saddle at home.
Br. Rabbit: If only you had a bridle…I am sure to fall down without a bridle…
Br. Fox: I have a bridle, too.
Br. Rabbit: Well, if you put on the saddle and the bridle, you can carry me to Mrs. Meadows’. I’ll go to the party in spite of my illness.
Br. Fox: OK. Settled.
(Curtain)

Mrs. Meadows: What’s the matter?
A Voice: They are coming!
Mrs. Meadows: Who?
A Voice: Brother Rabbit and Brother Fox!
(Из двери выезжают Братец Кролик и Братец Лис)

(Curtain)
1-й вед.: Матушка Медоуз очень любила гостей.
2-й вед.: У неё бывали Братец Волк и Братец Медведь, Братец Лис и Братец Кролик.
1-й вед.: И никто никогда не ссорился. Но вот однажды гости поспорили.
2-й вед.: Они спорили, кто самый умный.
1-й вед.: И кто самый красивый.
2-й вед.: Кто самый быстрый.
1-й вед.: И кто самый сильный.
2-й вед.: Посмотрите, чем это кончилось.
At Mrs. Meadows’
Br. Fox: I’m cunning. I’m more cunning than you. I’m the most cunning of all!
Br. Rabbit: I’m clever. I’m cleverer than you. I’m the cleverest of all!
Br. Racoon: I’m hard-working. I’m more hard-working than you. I’m the most hard-working of all!
Br. Wolf: I’m fast. I’m faster than you. I’m the fastest of all!
Mrs. Meadows: I’m wise. I’m wiser than you. I’m the wisest of all!
Sister Bear: I’m kind. I’m kinder than you. I’m the kindest of all!
Sister Rabbit: I’m beautiful. I’m more beautiful than you. I’m the most beautiful of all!
Br. Terrapin: I’m strong.
(The animals are giggling.)
Order! I’m stronger than you!
(The animals are laughing.)
Br. Terrapin: I say! I’m the strongest of all!
(The animals are laughing)
Mrs. Meadows: Have you got a bee in the bonnet?
Br. Terrapin: Not at all! Let’s compete!
Mrs. Meadows: What for?
Br. Terrapin: Sure, I’ll win! Are you afraid?
Br. Fox: OK. Let’s compete! Let’ have a jolly good fun! How are we to compete?
Br. Wolf: Are we to fight?
Br. Terrapin: No. Has anybody got a piece of rope?
Mrs. Meadows: I have. What for?
Br. Terrapin: Can’t you guess?
Mrs. Meadows: We are to pull the rope, aren’t we?
Br. Terrapin: Yes, certainly. I say, I’ll dive into the river and stay there. You are to pull the end of the rope, when I say “pull”.
(«Ныряет», т. е. спускается со сцены в зал)
Из зала: Could I help you, Brother Terrapin?
Br. Terrapin: Yes, certainly. Tie the other end of the rope to the radiator, please. We’ll see who is going to have a jolly good fun! Hey, pull!
(The animals are pulling the rope.)
All: Hey, pull!
Br. Rabbit: No result. What’s the matter?
Br. Fox: Nothing of the kind! Let’s pull!
All: Hey, pull!
Br. Terrapin: Are you pulling or sleeping?
All: Hey, pull!
Sister Rabbit: I’m tired. Where is your fun?
Br. Fox: OK. Brother Terrapin!
Br. Terrapin: What’s the matter?
Br. Fox: You are the strongest, that’s true.
Mrs. Meadows: Excuse us, please.
All: Excuse us, please.
Br. Terrapin: Don’t mention it. But never laugh at weak and small. They may surprise you.
(to the audience): Untie the rope, please.
All: For he’s a jolly good fellow (3)
And so say all of us.
