Druid: - Since the ancient times the Lord of Death and the Prince of Darkness has been the terror of all people. Every year on the 31st of October there was HALLOWEEN. The servants of the Lord of Death (witches, goblins, ghosts) mocked at the alive and took the souls of the dead to the Kingdom of Death. Nobody could come back from there but for… JACK-O-LANTERN! Who was Jack-o-Lantern? And how did he manage it? Now you can see, what happened one day on the 31st of October many years ago…
Scene 1.
(Gloomy music sounds. The Lord of Death and Wizard came in.)
Lord: - Tremble, people! I am the Lord of Death and The Prince of Darkness! It is my birthday today and many people will get to the Kingdom of Death!
Wizard: - My Lord! The souls of the dead people are waiting for you!
Lord: - Take them in!
(Two goblins-guards came in and took in three souls).
1st goblin: - My Lord, all the souls of the dead people are here.
Lord: - WHAT?!! Only THREE souls?!!
1st goblin (scared): - Yes, my Lord. We are sorry, my Lord.
2nd goblin: - We are sorry, my Lord!
( Lord seized the goblins and shook them)
Lord: - You are sorry! I’ll fire you! I’ll make cutlets of you! What are you looking at me? Go and catch somebody!
(The goblins ran away. Lord is looking at the souls carefully.)
Lord (upset): - Hm, they are so sick and lifeless!
Wizard: - But they are dead, my Lord!
(Suddenly the goblins came in. They took in Jack, putting him down on his knees.)
Jack: - Oh, my God! Where am I?
Lord: - You are in the Kingdom of Death and I am the Lord of Death! What’s your name?
Jack (terrified): - Jack!
Lord: - Prepare to DEATH, Jack!
Jack: - Death?! No! No! No!
Lord: - YES! Now you are MINE! Get him!
(Goblins and souls are seizing Jack, pushing him to each other, throwing him on the floor and dancing around him. Jack doesn’t move. Wizard comes up to Jack, feels his pulse.)
Wizard: - Jack has kicked the bucket!
(An angel song sounds – “Enigma”.)
Lord: - Do you hear the angel song?
3 souls all together: - Yes!
Lord: - Fly where the song is! There you will find your last shelter!
Wizard (comes up to Jack): - Fly away! The Heaven is waiting for you!
(3 souls and Jack are “flying away”)
Scene 2.
In which Jack is driven away from Heaven and is sent to Hell.
(Gloomy Music sounds)
Lord: So, our working day is over. And I can celebrate my birthday!
Wizard: – I wish you health, my Lord!
Lord: – Thank you, Wizard. Now, let’s party-y-y! Where are the witches?
(Merry music sounds. Three witches came in dancing. They have got wine and some fruit. The whole company is having fun dancing, drinking, screaming. The Lord fell down on his throne.)
Lord: - Now, witches, sing my favourite song!
(The witches are singing and dancing the song “Looby-Loo”.)
Looby-Loo.
1.I put my right hand in.
I put my right hand out.
I give my right hand a shake-shake-shake.
And turn myself about!
Refrain:
Here we dance Looby-Loo!
Here we dance Looby-Light!
Here we dance Looby-Loo!
All on a Saturday night!
2.I put my left hand in.
I put my left hand out.
I give my left hand a shake-shake-shake.
And turn myself about.
Refrain.
3.I put my wholeself in.
I put my wholeself out.
I give my wholeself a shake-shake-shake.
And turn myself about.
(After the song the heavenly music is heard. It scares the withes and they are running away).
Lord: - Why? What’s that! The banquet must go on!
Wizard: - My Lord! Angel is coming here!
(Angel and Jack came in.)
Angel: - Good evening, gentlemen! Whom did you send to Heaven? Jack can’t be there.
Lord: - Why? What’s wrong with him?
Angel: - Jack is BAD and STINGY like Scrudge! Look at his characteristic!
Wizard: - O’K, O’K. We’ll correct it!
Angel: - You’d better do!
(The Angel goes away).
Wizard: - Devils of Hell! I call for you! Come to me!
(Two devils of Hell came.)
Devils: – We are here! Why did you call us?
Wizard: - Take this man to Hell!
2 devils: - Yes, sir.
(The devils took Jack away).
Lord: - Let’s get out of here. I want to have a rest!
Scene 3.
(In Hell the Old Devil sits and yawns. The 2 devils took Jack in.)
Devil 1:- Hey, old man! Look, what a boy!
Old Devil: - What?
Devil 2: - Wake up! Today we’ll have a good dinner! Let’s fry this sinner!
Old Devil: - Fine! Bring here the pan!
Jack: - Oh, guys, what are you going to do with me?
Devil 1: - A hotdog!
Old Devil: - Yeah, a big, tasty hotdog!
Jack: - No-no-no! Don’t! Don’t! I… I can show you something interesting!
Old Devil: O’K, show your stuff. But quickly! I am hungry!
(Джек достаёт 3 напёрстка, шарик, черти склоняются над ним.)
Jack: - The ball is on the left, the ball is on the right! Guess where it is!
May be you’ll be right!
2 Devils: - Oh, we like it! It’s really something new!
Old Devil: - O’K, Jack. We won’t eat you up right now. Your game is very interesting. Now you’ll amuse us! Let’s go to the bar and have fun there! (They leave.)
Scene 4.
(Lord of Death and Wizard come in singing. (the tune of “Эй, ухнем!”).
-Happy birthday!
Children cry, people die!
Happy birthday!
Another year passed you by,
Very soon you will die!
Happy birthday!
(The Devils of Hell rushed in with Jack from Hell. Old Devil falls down on his knees and begs Lord.)
Old Devil: - My Lord! Please, take away this terrible man! He played tricks on me, the old devil!
2 devils: - He won our salary for a month! Why didn’t we make a hotdog of him! Uh, bandit!
Lord: - Oh-oh-oh! Go to Hell!
(The devils ran away).
Wizard: - My Lord, this man couldn’t stay in Heaven, because he is greedy and bad, and he couldn’t stay in Hell, because he played tricks on the Devils. What shall we do to him?
Lord: - Now let me think… I am the Lord of Death order you, Jack to take this lantern.
(Wizard gives Jack a lantern-pumpkin).
Now you are Jack-o-Lantern!
Witches, goblins cry out: Jack-o-Lantern! Jack-o-Lantern! Jack-o-Lantern!
Lord: - Witches, goblins and ghosts will be your servants. You’ll scare people, young and old, men and women, students and teachers! Now catch them!
Jack and his gang: - YE-E-ES!
(Jack and goblins rush to spectators catch several students and teachers and play with them traditional Halloween games: “Bobble the apple”, “Draw a Skeleton”, “Shoe a Chair”).
- For the first game one needs a bowl with water and apples. The player with his eyes closed tries to catch an apple with his spoon.
- In the second game the players make up two teams. Every participant should draw one part of the body of a skeleton. The team, which makes it quicker, is a winner.
- For the third game one needs a chair and four shoes. The participant with his eyes closed must shoe a chair.
- The fourth task is to sing a traditional Halloween song.
- The fifth task is to tell a traditional Halloween scary story.
If the students do all the tasks, they are allowed to go to the Halloween Disco.
