Цели урока: создать условия для ознакомления учащихся с некоторыми фактами биографии Льюиса Кэрролла и построения монологического высказывания по теме в объеме 8-10 предложений.
Задачи:
- учебные: практиковать в чтении и говорении, отрабатывать произносительные навыки, активизировать употребление лексики;
- воспитательные: формировать уважение к мнению другого человека, прививать интерес к культуре другой страны, повысить интерес к изучению английского языка,
- развиваюие: развивать умение анализировать и обобщать.
Учебные пособия: карточки с текстами.
Ход урока
1. Орг. момент.
Hello, students! Sit down, please. What’s the date today? Is anybody absent?
Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы.
That’s nice. Let’s begin.
2. Фонетическая разминка.Let’s remember our last poem:
Whether the weather is fine,
Or whether the weather is not,
Whether the weather is cold,
Or whether the weather is hot,
We’ll weather the weather
Whatever the weather,
Whether we like it or not.
Which sounds can you hear in this rhyme?
Can you name any more words with these sounds?
Repeat thus rhyme all together after me.
Let’s read the rhyme in a chain.
P1, read it by heart, please.
Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы, вспоминают слова с наиболее часто встречающимися в стихотворении звуками, затем учитель организует чтение стихотворения по цепочке, после этого просит 2-3 учеников рассказать его наизусть.
3. Речевая разминка.How do you understand this rhyme? You may answer in Russian.
Учащиеся отвечают, что у нас нет выбора, мы вынуждены терпеть или приспосабливаться к любой погоде.
Right. So, whatever the weather, we have to study. And now, answer my questions, please.
Do you like reading? Do you have your favourite book? Which Russian and foreign writers do you know? What can you tell about him/her or about his/her books?
Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы.
We are having a reading lesson today. We will learn some facts from the biography of an Englishman. But firstly, look at the blackboard and try to read the words.
На доске записаны слова: to write, to teach, mathematics, Oxford, famous, George, to tell, to make up, adventures, handwritten, to decide, to publish, other.
Учащиеся проговаривают слова и пытаются догадаться, о ком идет речь.
4. Целеполагание.Учитель показывает портрет Льюиса Кэрролла.

Ученики отвечают, что не знают этого человека.
Don’t worry, I think, you’ll learn it during our lesson. We are having a reading lesson today. We will learn some facts from the biography of this Englishman.
Кроме того, ребята, вы узнаете сегодня о том, каким образом некоторые факты биографии этого человека связаны с одной известной в нашей стране книгой.
5. Работа в группах.Учитель делит класс на группы по три человека. Каждый ученик в группе получает карточку с текстом, материал которой отличен от материала карточек других членов группы, но у всех групп задания идентичные.
You are to read and understand your texts.
Texts:
1. Lewis Carrol was the pen name of Charles Dodgson, the man who wrote a famous book for children, “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”. Charles Dodgson was born in England in 1832. When Charles finished school, he became a student at Oxford University, where he studied mathematics. In a few years he began to teach this subject at the university.
2. Charles Dodgson had no family, but he loved children very much. He often visited his friend Henry George Liddell, who had a large family.There were three little girls in the Liddell family. Dodgson liked Alice, who was four years old. He often told her interesting stories which he made up himself. Charles told Alice the adventures of a little girl in Wonderland. Alice liked the stories very much.
3. When Alice Liddell was ten years old, she asked Charles to write down these stories for her and he did so. The name of the little girl in the stories was Alice, too. A friend of the Liddells, who was a writer, read this handwritten book and liked it very much. He said that other children in England must read it, too. Charles Dodgson decided to publish the book and took the pen name of Lewis Carroll. [1]
6. Смена групп.Now I’d like you to find the persons who have texts with the same numbers.
Учитель дает задание собраться в группы по номерам карточек и обсудить в новой группе свой текст так, чтобы каждый член группы смог передать его содержание как на русском, так и на английском языках.
7. Физкультминутка.Let’s rest a little.
Учащиеся выполняют действия в рифму.
Red, red, touch your head.
Black, black, touch your back.
Blue, blue, touch your shoe.
Green, green, touch your chin.
Brown, brown, touch the ground.
Return to your groups and tell each other what you have learnt. Make up a story. After that, choose 2 pupils to tell us the whole story. One of them will tell it in Russian, and the other one – in English.
Учащиеся возвращаются в первоначальные группы, обсуждают информацию, полученную из всех трех источников. Член одной группы рассказывает содержание всех текстов на русском языке, член другой – на английском.
9. Подведение итогов урока. Рефлексия.А сейчас давайте вспомним, обо всем, чем мы занимались на сегодняшнем уроке, и сделаем выводы. Whose portrait is it? What information was new for you? What have you remembered?
Discuss which marks you can give to your partners. Explain why you will have decided so.
Учащиеся подводят итог урока, выясняют, в чем для каждого из них заключались трудности, оценивают своих товарищей и себя.
10. Объяснение домашнего задания.
Your hometask will be to read the first part of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and answer the questions given to the story.
Text:
One hot summer day Alice and her sister Loreen sat on the grass in a field near the river. Alice did not know what to do. So she decided to pick some flowers, but it was hot and she wanted to sleep. She lay down on the grass.
Suddenly a White Rabbit ran near her. Alice heard a little voice which said: “I shall be late”. It was the Rabbit. “I didn’t know that a rabbit could talk”, Alice thought. Then the Rabbit took a watch out of his pocket, looked at it and hurried up. Alice got up and ran after the Rabbit. She did not know that a rabbit could have a watch in his pocket. Alice crossed the field after the White Rabbit. Then, before her eyes, it jumped down into a large rabbit hole.
Alice went after the Rabbit. She fell down the hole very slowly, so she had time to look around. It was very dark there but she saw many cupboards and bookcases, maps and pictures on the walls of the hole.
As Alice fell down and down she thought, “It’s interesting to know how far I’ve fallen now. I must be near the centre of the Earth. Shall I fall through the Earth? And when I come out of the hole, shall I see people who walk on their heads?” Suddenly Alice fell on to a heap of dry leaves. She quickly jumped to her feet and looked around her. [2]
