Тема: This fragile planet.

Задачи урока:

  • формирование лексических навыков чтения и говорения.
  • воспитание уважительного отношения к природе, воспитание бережливости;
  • формирование способности осознавать экологические проблемы, формирование желания помочь природе;
  • развитие способности формулировать выводы.

Сопутствующая задача: развитие умения аудировать с извлечением конкретной информации.

Оборудование: учебник, магнитофон, компьютерная презентация (Приложение 1), ИКТ для показа презентации.

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент и введение в тему.

T: Good morning dear children!

Today when I went to my work it was very hard to breathe for me. You ask me: «Why? ». I think because of burned gases from cars and buses. The air we breathe is much polluted. I consider it is the time to speak about this problem. (Презентация, слайд 1.)

This fragile planet.

The Earth is a home to millions of different kinds of living things, which are linked in many ways. Together, they make up the complex world of nature. Some are rivals or enemies while others depend on each other for survival.

The word environment means simply what is around us. The air we breathe, the soil on which we stand and work< the water we drink are all part of the environment.

Nowadays people are in a hurry to change habitats to suit their own needs – to create farmland or build cities, for example. The way people live threatens the delicate balance between living things and their habitats.

People create pollution, which travels through the air and water from one habitat to another. They also destroy wildlife habitats by digging the ground up for mining, or by building roads through them.

A quarter of all the plants in the world are known to be in danger or threatened with extinction.

Nowadays people understand how important it is to solve the environmental problems that endanger people's lives. The most serious environmental problems are: (Презентация, слайд 4.)

4. Выполнение задания по прослушанному тексту.

5. Обсуждение экологических проблем по прослушанному тексту и знание действительности. Развитие способности формулировать выводы.

1) T: What fact about water (air, «acid rain») pollution do you know?
What causes are of water (air, «acid rain») pollution?
What decision of these problems do you know or can you offer?

2) T: How can you help your planet? Remember the three R's: reduce, reuse, and recycle.

If I reuse my old exercise books I can help the forests.
If I always turn water off I can help the rivers.
If I always turn light off I can reduce using electricity.
If I don't leave glass and plastic bottles I can help to protect nature.
If I don't draw on the trees I can help not to spoil the environment.
If I sort my litter I can help the environment.
If I don't make campfires but to use a camping stove I can help to protect wildlife.
If I don't wear a fur coat I can help the animals.
