- Well, wonderful inventions have been made in science and technology recently. They have changed the life style of millions of people. Here are some modern inventions which are used in everyday life. Try to match the gadgets and machines with their functions and say why people use them. Stand up. Come here, please. Start working. - And here is the list of the most impressive and beautiful man-made things which were made in the 2nd century before Christ. They were called the 7 wonders of the ancient world. This material is taken from the Internet by the students of your group. Let us read them and be ready to match them with the pictures.

V. Этап закрепления нового материала.
- One of the wonders of the world is Space Travel. And our two tasks are about it. Some students have found the answers to these questions. The sources of information are different. Listen to them and decide who is right. (Двое учащихся делают сообщения (Приложение №10) и заполняют таблицу ‘ Your sources of information’ Приложение №11).
- To answer who is right we will read the original text from the British Student’s book ‘Headway’. (Приложение №12)

- Now I’d like you to read some information about Stonehenge first, then watch video and say if the sentences are correct or not.

I think each student dreams about visiting wonderful places of the world. And your hometask is to make up a story about one of the wonders of the world, any monument like Stonehenge, that you have visited or read about.
