Задачи:
- продолжать знакомить учащихся с особенностями и достопримечательностями США;
- обогатить учащихся новыми языковыми средствами;
- учить учащихся аргументированным микровысказываниям;
- развивать общемыслительные и речевые способности.
Оборудование: УМК “New Millennium English”, 7 класс, магнитофон, мультимедийный проектор, раздаточный материал.
Ход урока:
ОНУ.
Good- morning, boys and girls! I am glad to see you! Take your places, please. Today we are going to continue our exploration of the USA. But now let’s repeat some names. (слайд 1)
Фонетическая зарядка.
So, let’s repeat these names all together: The USA, Washington, the Mississippi, American, Columbus, Independence Day.

What associations do you have with these words? Tell some words about them.

Your home task was to read the parts of the poem and put them in the right order.

You have got some cards. There are names of some sights of the USA. Your task is to match the pictures and the names. (Statue of Washington; Canyon, Colorado; Mississippi River, Columbia, NASA, Niagara falls, Statue of Liberty, the Capitol, Manhattan).
Упражнения по обучению микровысказываниям:
(слайд 4).There are some beginnings of statements. You should finish then using your knowledge about the USA. You may use your books and work-books.
Обучающее чтение.
Now open your workbooks on p. 37 ex. 1a. Read the information about American holidays. I’ll give you some minutes for reading and then you should answer the question What holidays are the most popular in the USA? (слайд 5)
Письменные упражнения:
There is ex. 1b on p. 39 you must read and complete the sentences.
