There is a village on the mountain.
There is a spring not far from our village,
I know it`s freshness and taste –
That`s why I like my springs.
Ecology.
About two hundred years ago people lived in harmony with nature, because industry was not much developed. But progress does not come to a standstill. Considerable advances were made by people in different areas of science. However, there exists the dark side of the picture. Now industrially developed states can not ignore the problem of environmental protection. The ecocide is increasing constantly. The contradictions between man and nature are dramatic. The main aim in the policy of environmental protection is development of technology to control atmospheric and water pollution, the study of man’s influence on climate, biological and genetic consequences of pollution, protection of rare and vanishing plants and animals and protection nature as a whole.
The land pollution results from the use of chemicals and pesticides. Many countries try to achieve clearer air. Total emissions and average concentration of harmful substances in the air can be reduced by installation of special equipment. The destruction of the ozone layer is also a very important problem. Industry is to be eco-friendly by all means.
Popular movements that try to protect nature are common all over the world now. An international movement “Greenpeace” has achieved much success. There is the socalled ecotourism which is directed towards exotic natural environments, and especially intended to support conservation efforts.
In Bishmuncha secondary school and in the village we do much work.
The ecological situation in the South-East part of the Republic has changed considerably as a result of integrated purposeful and scientifically based operations to protect the environment. One of the fist true signs of the improvement in the environment has been the presence again in many formerly polluted springs of delicious and healing water. Where there is water there is life. Along with the return of life-giving moisture the once disappearing small villages have begun to be revived. It is particularly valuable that renewal is causing a rebirth of the spirit of the nation.
“Tell others about the water, that you drink”
Koran
“Tell others about the water, that you drink” - it is said in the Koran.
Our oil workers act in such way, maintaining the springs near the roads for the use of travelers. Such springs generously share everything they have: life-giving water, coolness, the shadow of the willows and fresh curative air.
One said that the Goddess of love patronizes the springs. This may be why the springs are for young people the places of meetings. Formerly, one came to the sources to think about ones fondest wishes for the future. In ancient times one considered that in the sanctified water one could see the face of a destined husband. In the evenings young ladies came to the springs to take water and fellows were impatiently waiting for their arrival. The yokes with pales were laid aside and lively games with songs and dances were begun.
Today these traditions go on in other ways. Young couples came to the springs in wedding procession and to create a symbol of long and good fortune in life they plant a tree. During the weddings they sing the national ritual songs.
The industrial development has become so great now and the influence on the nature so harmful, that the problem of protecting nature is becoming vital. The Earth is our home, that is why we must take care of it, for ourselves and for the next generations. We must keep our environment clean.
