сценарий праздника 'Russia is beautiful'):Teacher: - Good afternoon, dear children! We are happy to see you at our party. Today we’re going to discover Russia.
The Earth is round. Men and animals live on it.
The map of the world shows the five continents. Between the continents, there are oceans and seas. The largest of the oceans is the Pacific Ocean. The Mediterranean Sea is the largest of the seas.
One of the largest countries in the world is Russia.
I. Russia is our Motherland.
1. Question
S: 1) Where is Russia situated? (on Europe and Asia)
2) How long does it take to cross Russia by plane? (10 hours)
3) How many time zones has Russia got? (10)
T: - The longest river in Europe is in Russia. What is it s name? (the Volga)
T: - Russian people call it ‘Matushka’ Volga. But what is the longest river in Russia? (the Lena)
T: - There are a lot of songs about this beautiful river. (песня “Течет река Волга”)
2. T: - Now complete the sentenceS:

II. Moscow.
1. T: - The capital of Russia is Moscow. Today it is one of the most famous cities in the world. And it is one of the largest cities of the world.
Q: - Is it an old city? (Yes)
- How old is it? (It’s more than 8 000 years old.)
T: - There is a well-known fact how Prince Yuri Dolgoruki founded Moscow. Would you like to know how it happened?
2. The story of Moscow (acting out how Y.D. founded Moscow (from Click on Russia)).
T: - So, it was in the twelfth century.

T: - So it’s interesting to learn about new thingS: different countries and people, their history and their traditions.

S: – Russian people have always loved their country, though life in Russia has never been easy.
Russian people have always been devoted to their Motherland, fighting for peace and independence against enemies on their land.
T: - So we are going to speak about our national symbols. (acting out a dialogue about the flag)
T: - There is a holiday of the Russian flag… (august,22nd 1994)
T: - There is another symbol of Russia which all Russian people know and love. What is it?
- It’s a tree.
- You can find it everywhere.
- People sing beautiful songs about these trees. They plant them near their houses.
- It’s a birch tree.
- In Old Russian towns people often call young lovely girls little birch trees (beryozka, beryozon’ka).
IV. Family Life.

T: - As you can guess we are going to speak about our people, our families.
S: - Russian people are all different, but together they built a strong country, the Russian Federation.
T: - Everything begins in the family. You have written a lot of compositions about your families. Some families are large, some are small, but all of them are special. All of them are beautiful. (special things about some families from children’s compositionS:
1) Alina's family likes to go to the country.They like nature very much.
2) Olesya’s favourite sports are swimming and football.
3) Arseney writes that they are all different but together they are a family.
4) Tamara’s cat Barsik has got very wonderful green eyes, small ears, a long tail and a curly moustache.)
