Цель урока: Совершенствование навыков устной речи по теме «Sports».

Задачи урока:

  • активизировать изученную лексику по теме: «Sports»
  • развивать умение аудировать с целью извлечения конкретной информации;
  • развивать речевые умения;
  • обучать монологическим высказываниям
  • развивать способности к логическому изложению, сравнению, к формированию умения делать обобщения, выводы;
  • формировать терпимое отношение и уважение к мнениям другого человека.

 

Оборудование: доска, компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, проекты учащихся, логико-схематические схемы.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент.

Teacher:

Good morning, children! As far as I know, many pupils of our school go in for sports. They represent our school in sport competitions at various levels. And there is an exhibit hall in our school where we can see a great deal of medals and Cups got our pupils in sport competitions.
But some children at school are not interested in sport at all.
The others prefer to watch it on TV. Today we are going to speak about sports and discuss your attitude towards it. What is better, to watch or participate in sport activities?

II. Phonetic drill.

 Teacher: Let’s pronounce correctly the words you need to discuss the topic. Listen and repeat after me.

IV. Активизация лексики по теме «Спорт»

1. Teacher: Teens can choose any sports they like. Look at the scheme and answer the questions:

  1. Which are indoor sports?
  2. Which are outdoor sports?
  3. In which seasons are these sports usually popular?

2. Teacher: Give the words corresponding to the following definitions:

  • the person who plays sports;
  • the person who throws the ball into the basket;
  • the place people skate on;
  • the place pupils have the lessons of PT;
  • the person who comes to the stadium to watch sport competitions;
  • a kind of contest at which many sports events take place;
  • people who shout for their favorite team;
  • girls and boys who jump up and down and shout for their team;

Teacher: Read what the American teens think about sport.

1. Предваряющий вопрос учителя перед чтением текстов: “What do all the children have in common?”

2. Учащиеся читают тексты самостоятельно. Для проверки понимания прочитанного им предлагается выполнить следующие задания:

Задание 1.

Teacher: Say, who of the children ( Alison, Peter, Ann, Alex or Ted) can be the author of these words?

  • Sport plays a great role in my life.
  • I don’t like to compete, but I like to watch sports on TV.
  • I am not crazy about sports, but I think it is very important to keep in good form and stay healthy.
  • My attitude towards sports is problematic.
  • I think aiming for physical perfection people miss out a lot in their lives.
  • I go to our local football club every spare minute and my dream is to become a football player.
  • I am much happier sitting on my sofa with a book or in front of the computer.

Задание 2.

Teacher: Which of the American children’s opinions do you agree or disagree? Why?
Give your reasons. What do you think about the children’s attitude to sport?

Speak on the problem.

(Учащиеся работают в группах по 3 человека. Обсуждают и высказывают своё личное отношение к проблеме. Высказывания осуществляются при закрытых текстах на основе логико-схематических схем).

Примерные высказывания учащихся:

Pupil 1: I think, that Ann has a strong will. She says it is very important to keep in good form and stay healthy. She goes jogging, attends fitness room and classes of aerobics though she is not crazy about sports at all. But I am not keen on sport. I am much happier playing computer games at home. That’s why my mother always calls me a “couch potato”. As for me, it’s better to watch sport on TV.

Pupil 2: Ted’s attitude to sport is problematic. On the one hand, sport is his life. He wants to be a professional sportsman. But on the other hand, a professional sportsman gets old too quickly. He can’t play when he is old. As for me, I like to play basketball. But I’ll never become a professional sportsman. I’ll shout for my favorite basketball team when I get old and can’t play in a team any more.

VII. Заключительный этап урока.
