The Aghidel.
There are meadows green all along
The Aghidel river,
Soft and beautiful is the grass in the meadows.
Flow quiet the waters of the Aghidel,
Fresh is the water, fragrant is the air
Generous both they are to the mind and the body.
Flow quiet the waters of the Aghidel
Oh, quiet they flow by the meadows.
All aglow is the blooming black–cherry where
the nightingale sings,
Flow quiet the waters of the Aghidel,
All aglow is the water below the clack–cherry
Where the nightingale sings.
If you tasted but once the Aghidel waters,
No evil thought will enter your mind.
Flow guiet the waters of the Aghidel
Oh, quiet they flow by the meadows.

“No, it is my land,” shouted another. “I bought it. ”
“It’s mine! It’s mine!” shouted another. “I bought it. ”

“But it was you who had taught me to do so!” the poor man said to them.
“What? It was we who had taught you?” asked the mullahs.
“It was like this,” the peasant answered.
“You repeat over again in the mosque: “Great Allah created the earth with seven-stratum dessiatina of land to you seven, reverend mullahs. Divide it now yourselves. Why should you argue and quarrel in vain?”
