Познавательная – знакомство с историей Голливуда, с известными актерами.

Развивающая – развитие способности к догадке, коммуникабельности, способность осуществлять репродуктивные и продуктивные речевые действия.

Воспитательная – воспитание уважительного, толерантного отношения к чужому мнению, чужой культуре; воспитание потребности к творчеству.

Учебная – формирование лексических навыков чтения и говорения, развитие умения читать и аудировать с целью извлечения конкретной информации.

Сопутствующие задачи – совершенствование навыка работы с компьютером, с интернет-страницами.

Оснащение урока: компьютеры, мультимедиа проектор.

ПОЯСНИТЕЛЬНАЯ ЗАПИСКА

Урок по теме “Голливуд” проведен в 11-м классе в рамках темы “Что ты знаешь о кинематографе?”. Данный урок относится к разделу “What helps you to enjoy yourselves?” учебно-методического комплекта под редакцией В.П.Кузовлева для 10–11-х классов и представляет собой промежуточный этап работы по изучаемой теме (этап активизации и закрепления лексического материала).

ХОД УРОКА

1. Организационный момент, установка на английский язык, целеполагание.

(На экране проектора: звездное небо, появляются и исчезают афиши фильмов, разных по жанру; звучит песня “Hollywood” в исполнении Мадонны).

The 20th century may be called the century of film making. Cinema and TV films have become an important part in our life. Let’s talk about cinematography… But first let’s revise the words.

Повторение слов за диктором, поиск правильного варианта перевода слова. (Возможна как фронтальная работа с мультимедиа-проектором, так и индивидуальная работа учащихся на компьютере.) The first genres of films were melodrama, western and comedy, later appeared adventure and historical films. And what is your favourite genre?

Учащиеся рассказывают о своих любимых жанрах.

Затем два ученика рассказывают об исследовании, которое они провели: опросив 25 учителей и 25 старшеклассников об их любимых жанрах, они подсчитали набранные баллы и составили диаграммы, которые представлены на экране. Диаграммы комментируются, обсуждаются различия. (You see that tastes differ. Our teachers like documentaries and melodramas very much and don’t like horror films. And students on the contrary like horror films. Both teachers and students like comedies).

Индивидуальная работа учащихся на компьютере: просмотр отрывка из фильма “Гарри Поттер и философский камень” и выполнение теста на понимание просмотренного. Компьютер дает оценку за выполненный тест. (Тест подготовлен учителем в программе hot Potatoes 6, которая позволяет использовать в заданиях не только текст, но и графику, звук и видео).

Ученикам предлагается попробовать себя в роли известных актеров и журналистов. What would you like to be if you worked in cinematography? ... I offer you to imagine that some of you are actors, famous Hollywood stars. Prepare an interview with a journalist and a film star. Julia Roberts

Julie Fiona Roberts, born in Smyrna, Georgia, never dreamed she would become the most popular actress in America. As a child, due to her love of animals, Julia originally wanted to be a veterinarian, but later studied journalism. When her brother Eric achieved some success in Hollywood, Julia decided to try acting. Her first break came in 1988 when she appeared in two youth-oriented movies Mystic Pizza (1988) and Satisfaction (1988). With My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) Julia gave the genre fresh life that had been lacking in Hollywood for some time. Offscreen, after a brief marriage, Julia has been romantically linked with several other actors. Julia has also become involved with UNICEF charities and has made visits to many different countries, including Haiti and India, in order to promote goodwill. Julia is one of the most popular and sought-after talents in Hollywood.

Cameron Diaz

It is hard to believe that Cameron's first movie role was playing the female lead in the hilarious Jim Carrey triumph The Mask. She did an excellent job, and came as a surprise to everyone who saw the movie. People were without a doubt looking around and asking each other; "who is she and where did she come from?" The truth is, Cameron Diaz started out as a model who left home to live in Japan when she landed a contract with the Elite Modeling Agency. Soon she was modeling all over the world, from Mexico to Australia, from Paris to Morocco, she continued building her modeling career and earning a great living. Cameron started to appear in different advertisements. She appeared in ads for Calvin Klein, Coca-Cola, and Levi's. Soon though, Cameron decided that modeling was not enough for her. She decided to move on to acting. After auditioning for The Mask, she got the role. The movie proved to be a success, but after making her mark Cameron decided to take on some independent film roles in such movies as Fleeting Minnesota, She's the One, and others. Her next big role came when she appeared alongside Jennifer Aniston in the romantic comedy titled My Best Friend's Wedding. After also starring in A Life Less Ordinary (with Ewan McGreggor), Cameron landed the part that would be her biggest hit to-date; There's Something About Mary, one of summer's biggest grossing movies. It is safe to say that the future looks bright for Cameron Diaz. It will be hilarious to see her in the upcoming Being John Malkovic. The fact is, Cameron Diaz is a serious actress with vast potential, and she will continue to light up the screen.

Keanu Reeves

Keanu's name is pronounced (Key-ah-nu) and means "cool breeze over the mountains". From hockey star to bass guitarist, a man with an intriguing past and a powerful future, Keanu is one of those actors people just can't get enough of. As a teenager, Keanu had the potential of being a professional hockey player, but he knew acting was the road he was going to take. He dropped out of high school and pursued his dream. After several minor television roles, Keanu landed a role in Young Blood, starring teen sensation, Rob Lowe. Keanu's break-out role was in the teen film, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. He was an overnight sensation! The teens couldn't get enough of him, adults wanted to know more about him. Thanks to the unbelievable popularity of The Matrix, we will get to see him play the character of Neo two more times in the next two years. Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Linn Aniston, who plays Rachel on Friends, was born on 2 November 1969, in Sherman Oaks, California but was raised mostly in New York. Her father, John Aniston, is an actor on "Days of Our Lives", and her godfather is Telly Savalas so young Jennifer was around acting from an early age. Jennifer has Greek ancestors, and actually spent some time in Greece as a child, before settling in New York because of her father's acting career (specifically he landed a role on "Love of Life"). At age eleven, she joined the Rudolf Steiner School's drama club. Jennifer says, "I was always fascinated by acting, but my experience at Rudolf Steiner encouraged me to pursue it as a career. Steiner was a free-spirited school that encouraged creativity and individualism." It was here that she developed a passion for art.
Jennifer started her professional training at New York's High School for the Performing Arts as a drama student. She graduated there in 1987. She appeared in Off-Broadway productions of "For Dear Life" and "Dancing on Checker's Grave", before her first TV role on "Molloy". Other TV shows graced with her presence include "The Edge", "Ferris Bueller" (the TV version), a recurring role on "Herman's Head", and even some guest appearances on "Quantum Leap" and "Burke's Law". Jennifer is also an artist. At the age of 11 one of her paintings was selected for display in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. Even now she still spends a lot of time on art projects, including charcoal drawings, clay sculptures, and paintings. During her hiatus during the summer of 1995, Aniston completed production on the feature film "Dreams for an Insomniac" starring Ione Skye and Mackenzie Astin. She also starred with Quentin Tarrentino in an interactive tutorial CD-ROM directed by Steven Spielberg. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, camping, and getting closer to nature especially with her two dogs Enzo and Katchina.

Mel_Gibson

In the year 1956 on January 3rd in Peekskill, New York, USA a little baby boy was born. His name was Mel Columcille Gerard Gibson. His father's name was Hutton Gibson and his mother's, I could not find her name. Mel was the sixth of eleven children. When Mel Gibson reached to the age of twelve he and his family moved to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. They moved because Mel's father didn't want his boys been drafted to the army and to Vietnam.
As a young man Mel went to a school in Sydney named Sydney's National Institute of Dramatic arts. It was there he became educated. Mel also went to another school in Sydney called University of New South Wales. When Mel was performing for the first time on the stage of Sydney's National Institute of Dramatic arts he was so nervous so he could not do it standing so he had to sit. In the year 1977 he got his first role in Summer City which led to, that he went to the South Australia Theater Company. And after a time he got an audition call for the film Mad Max. He exepted that. But the night before the audition he was in a street fight and his face got badly bruised, and he thought that his chances were bad. But it seemed like the face had proven useful because ha got the part in Mad Max (1979). The film Mad Max hadn't proven to be so good. But it's sequel, The Road Warrior (1981), it blew the box office sky high, and after that movie he became a star. And he had proven his strength in his next movie too. It was the movie Gallipoli (1981). Mel received an Australian acting award for best actor. After a few years Mel returned in action movies, like Lethal Weapon. He made four Lethal Weapon's. The newest Lethal Weapon has already come out on cinemas. The other movies are already on cassettes. The three other movies are made 1987, 1989 and 1992. This last is made between 1997 and 1998. And he also made his third Mad Max movie in 1985. His first movie that he directed and starred in was The man without a Face in 1993, and another film that he directed, produced and starred in was the famous Braveheart. Mel Gibson got married in the year 1980 with a certain young lady, Robyn Moore. Together they have six children, Hannah, Edward, Christian, William, Louis and Milo.
