1. Now introduce the members of the teams. Make up the dialogue about yourself.

- Hello!
- Hi!
- What’s your name?
- My name is...
- Where are you from?
- I am from...
- Where do you live?
- I live in a dark forest ( an old house, a castle)
- What is your favorite food?
- Dry mice, insects.
- What is your hobby?
- My hobby is to scare small children.
- How have you come (got) here?
- On the broomstick (in the bucket, with the wind)

- I am terrible. My eyes, arms, legs are hurt. I’ve got a backache after a long traveling.

2. The next task is to draw the invitation card to our Halloween party.
Take two papers, your felt-tip pens and start drawing. Show your cards to the jury.

3. Now dear witches, ghosts and wizards make up the words out of letters, read and translate them.

4. The following task is to make up the sentences out of the words and then to put them in order according to the action. We’ll know how you can make Jack-o’-Lantern.[1]

  • Pumpkin, a, take, huge, yellow
  • A, a, and, mouth, nose, cut
  • The, the, near, in, or, house, pumpkin, put

5. Try to say the rhymes how children ask the treat with the following word combinations.

For the first team: (They are underlined.)[2]

The sky is blue, the sky is green
Have you got a penny for Halloween?
Halloween, Halloween.

For the second team:

Ghost and witches can be seen
Trick or treat, trick or treat!
Give us something good to eat.

Our jury will control who has done correctly.

6. Well, attention, please. Listen to the tape and say what people give to children on Halloween. What tricks children play on people if they don’t get the treat? The winner will be that team who shows the best knowledge. You may use the pen and the paper.[1]

7. Thank you. You are a little bit tired. Let’s relax. You’ll have some creative task. Make the mummy out of TP (toilet paper) (кто лучше и красивее обернёт члена команды туалетной бумагой). Ready, steady, go! The time is over. Stop it please.

а) Say true or false, correct them.

  • Halloween is at the end of winter.
  • In the past this festival was a time of fear.
  • People believed in ghost, witches.
  • They met them in the streets and played with them.

б) Pick out the right words and read the sentences.

  • At Halloween children dress up as fairies, witches, father-frosts, ghosts.
  • They visit their teachers, neighbors, parents.
  • They cry: Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, Trick or Treat.
  • The grown-ups must give them a pudding, a gift (present) fruit, sweets.
  • The children dance, sing, knock at the door.

9. All right. We’ve come to the last task. Let’s finish our party with the song about Halloween (sing together) « The pumpkin in the patch ». Now let our jury speaks. The jury gives the information about the results of the contest. At the end of the party all the children get sweets after crying «trick or treat».[1]

The party can be over with dances.
