В данной статье мне хотелось бы рассказать о заключительном уроке по теме “What helps you to enjoy yourself?”, который я провела в 11-м классе. (УМК “English 10-11”, Кузовлев В. П.,

учебный аспект: развитие речевого умения;

сопутствующая задача: скрытый контроль уровня развития речевого умения;

развивающий аспект: развитие самостоятельности, творческих способностей, воображения, познавательной активности;

воспитательный аспект: воспитание потребности к творчеству, уважительного отношения к чужой культуре, более глубокое осознание своей культуры;

T: Good morning, friends.

Today we are going to have a talk about cinema, we shall find out the results of social opinion poll and some interesting information about Oscar and rating system in Russia. You know that in 1995 we celebrated the hundredth anniversary of cinematography. Cinema and TV films have become an important part of our lives. But not everyone knows when and how cinematography appeared. Let’s remember some facts about the history of cinematography. I’ve invited the representatives of famous magazines about cinema at our lessons. They are Paul, Aram and Konstantin. The young journalists have questions for you.

P: Hello! My name’s Konstantin. I represent “America-Cinema”. I’m interested in history of Russian cinematography.

  1. Do you know when the first film was demonstrated in Russia?
  2. Could you tell me who founded the first film studios, please?
  3. Can you tell me when the first Russian sound cinema house started to work, please?
  4. I’d like to know, please, what first genres of the Russian films were popular?
  5. Can you name me the stars of silent films in the 20th in Russia, please?

P: Hello! I’m Paul. I represent “Entertainment”.

  1. I should be interested to know people often go to the cinema nowadays in Russia? Why?
  2. What Russian comedies/historical or detective films would you advise to see?
  3. The MPAA rating system was introduced to prevent children from too much violence in action films on screen. Grown-ups think that not all films are suitable for children, especially action films. What is your opinion about action films?
  4. Another genre which provokes serious discussion is horror films. Should children watch horror films?

P: Let me introduce myself. I’m Aram. I represent “Speak out”.

  1. Could you name the Russian famous film directors?
  2. I know that in your own town there are five cinema houses. I wonder if you could tell me there are TV studios in your native town.
  3. Cinema combines different arts. That’s why people of different professions are involved in film making. Maybe anybody has a dream to shoot a film or to become the star of the world cinematography?

T: I see the history of Russian cinematography is well known for you. But you have a great chance to ask young journalists about cinematography in the west.

P1: Why is Hollywood called the capital of filmed entertainment?

P2: What were the first films in the west?

P3: Tell us some words about Charlie Chaplin.

P4: Did you watch the screen version of “Gone with the wind”? Do you like this film?

T: Thank you boys, you are talented journalists.

T: Do you think to make films interesting? Do you know that a lot of people of similar professions are involved in shooting films? Could you remind what are they?

P: They are directors, actors and actresses, composers, costume-designers, camera-operators, make-up-artist and many others.

T: Let’s try to become actors and actresses and to make a sound track for an episode from one film. Let’s watch the video cassette.

T: I give you some minutes for preparation. Work in groups.

T: Well, let’s start making the sound track. We’ll know who will be the best.

T: You are very promising actors and actresses. Now let’s watch the original version.

b) Практика чтения.

T: You proved that to make film is difficult but interesting. I’d like to remember an American original, a man who developed the animated film. Do you know this man? It’s time to find out more about him. You will if you read this text.

Reading comprehension

Wa1t Disney

They say, Disney seldom praised anybody and he didn't like to show his feelings and emotions. But оnсе when he saw а few episodes frоm Ваmbi and turned to the animators there were tears in his eyes. This was how Disney approved of their work. But it happened only twice in thirty-nine years.

Disney respected people who could make something with their hands. Не especially respected the carpenter working in the studio. Although everyone called Disney Walt and he called everybody by their first паmе. The carpenter was an exception to the rule. Disney a1ways called him Mr. Rogers. When Wa1t Disney was making а film, he always thought not on1у about children but also about grown-ups. That's why he tried to touch uроn the subjects of nature and life, he wanted to make people think about life, love, justice, about good and evil powers. There were episodes in Disney's films that did not leave а dry еуе in the сinеmа .At the same time all Disney's films are full of optimism and have а happy ending. А great numbers of people were brought up on Walt Disney's films and they are grateful to him for these unforgettable moments in their childhood. It mау seem strange that after the success in animation, Disney directed his energies to а new field-constructing Disneyland. Everybody thought that it was impossible to rea1ise this idea but Disney saw it as соntinuation of what he had been doing all his life.

То praise -хвалить
