Цель урока (мероприятия): повторение и систематизация знаний по теме «Weather».

Основная задача: систематизировать и активизировать в устной речи изученный материал по темам weather, seasons, activities.

Сопутствующие задачи: создать условия для употребления изученных ЛЕ в речи; заинтересовать в изучении английского языка, мотивировать на поиск нужной информации.

Образовательная цель: развитие умений использования лексических навыков, закрепление основной лексики по теме и умение использовать эту лексику в речи.

Воспитательная цель: формировать навыки сотрудничества, воспитывать интерес к изучению иностранного языка, умение коллективно решать поставленные задачи.

Развивающая цель: развитие познавательных способностей, навыков межличностного общения, формирование навыков самоконтроля и контроля речи других учащихся, а также развитие психических функций учащихся: мышления, эмоций, внимания, воли, памяти.

Оснащение урока (мероприятия): мультимедийный проектор, ноутбук, презентация PowerPoint, мешочек с номерами для определения команды,

ХОД МЕРОПРИЯТИЯ

(In the beginning of the lesson the PowerPoint presentation with the title “Intricate weather” and thematic pictures is on)

Teacher: Good morning, pupils! I’m glad to see you, you may take your seats. Today there has been some problems with the weather: can’t you see it?

(several pictures of “intricate” weather are shown to the pupils, eg. a snowman in a spring garden, a fisherman in the mud)

Teacher: What has happened to weather in these pictures? is it good or bad?

Pupils: It is mixed/complicated/broken, etc. It is bad!

Teacher: Right you are! Do you like such weather?

Pupils: No, we don’t.

Teacher: So I guess we will help to fix it, won’t we?

Pupils: Yes!

Teacher: I suggest we divide into 2 teams. Come to me and take the card. The number on it will be the number of your teams.

Teacher: First of all, we need to name our teams. The names of the teams are hidden in the riddles (see below). The answer is the name of your team.

(Pupils guess the riddles and announce the name of their teams)

Teacher: So we have two teams: wind and rain. In what season do we usually see windy, rainy weather?

Pupils: In autumn.

Teacher: Great! And the first season we’ll handle is autumn. Look at the board, please. There are several facts about autumn here. Each group, please, choose a person and make them go to the blackboard.

Teacher: Read the questions (see below) one by one and answer them:

1. Are there apples on the trees in November?
2. Can we swim in the river in September?
3. Are there flowers in the fields in October?
4. Can we skate in autumn?
5. Is the weather hot in autumn?
6. Can we see he first flowers in October?
7. Can we see brown or yellow leaves on the ground in autumn?
8. Is autumn nice?

(Pupils from two teams read the questions one by one and answer them. If pupils fails to do it, their teammates help them)

Teacher: Good job! Thank you very much! What season comes next?

Pupils: Winter.

Teacher: Winter is mixed too! (points to the presentation). To fix winter you are to fill in the missing letters and read the poem. Teams, come to me and take the poems (see below).

 (Pupils work with their teams and complete the poems with missing letters. Having finished they read the poems and spell the words with missing letters)

Teacher: Great job, guys! What season comes next?

Pupils: Spring!

Teacher: Is the weather usually like this in spring? (points to the presentation)

Pupils: No! Usually it is sunny and warm!

Teacher: Let’s help this season to become normal again. Look at the blackboard. There are some cards with different types of weather. Arrange them from the most hot weather to the most cold one. Do it one person from a team at a time.

Frosty -  Cold -  Chilly - Cool - Windy

Hot – Warm – Sunny – Cloudy - Cool

(Pupils from both teams come to the blackboard one by one and arrange the balloons in the correct order. After they have finished the teams check their answers)

Teacher: Thank you very much! What season do we have left mixed?

Pupils: Summer.

Teacher: For summer we will complete the rhymes, read them and quess the season.

Teacher: What can you say about the proverb? (There is no bad weather There are only bad clothes – written in the presentation)

Teacher: I can say that both the teams were amazing and perfect! I want to thank you all for the lesson and say goodbye!
