7. Вторичное закрепление полученных знаний

I want you to remember 2 more myths about Prometheus and about Zeus and Europa.

P: Zeus and Europa

The beautiful Europa was playing with her friends on the shore when Zeus saw her. He fell in love with her. Zeus transformed himself into a white bull and went lay at the girl's feet.

As Europa took courage, she began to sport with the bull. But as soon as she sat on his back he ran to the sea and plunged into the water. The bull swam further and further from the shore. Europa cried for help in vain. So they reached Crete. Zeus and Europa had three sons. Europa stayed on Crete, married its king, who adopted her children and gave her name to a continent.

The bull whose shape Zeus assumed rose to heaven and became the well-known constellation of Taurus in the Zodiac cycle.

P: Prometheus

Prometheus, the friend of man, stole fire and gave it to man as a gift. But this angered Zeus and he decided to punish him. Prometheus' punishment was a harsh one. Zeus chained him to a pick in the Caucasus, at the end of the world, where an eagle flew down on him every day and pecked out his liver. But during the night the liver grew back again, and so the next day Prometheus would undergo his torment once more. Thirty years were to pass before Heracles released Prometheus from his terrible ordeal.
