Цели урока:
- образовательная: закрепить ранее полученные знания по темам "Профессии", "Личные качества", активизировать лексические и орфографические навыки;
- развивающая: способствовать развитию у учащихся памяти, мышления, языковой догадки, творческих способностей;
- воспитательная: содействовать поддержанию интереса к изучению английского языка, сплочению учащихся, воспитанию чувства ответственности за результаты своего труда.
Комплексно-методическое обеспечение: карточки с кроссвордами, буквами, словами, иллюстрации, дипломы победителей.
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент.
Учитель: Good afternoon! I'm glad to see you. Sit down, please.
Today we have an unusual lesson. It will be a competition between three teams. The topic of our game is "Ways to be yourself". Of course, we are all different. We can have different qualities, different feelings, we can choose different professions, but, anyway, we should stay ourselves. So, I think, you remember the words from the poem: "We're everything that we can be and still we are a family". At first, I ask you to introduce your teams. Name your team, its captain; speak a little about your hobbies. Let's begin!
Команды представляются.
Thank you. It was very interesting. Now listen to the rules of our game. There will be 5 rounds. In each round you can get some points. The team which will get the biggest number of points will become a winner.
II. Ход игры.
1-й раунд.
Учитель: Let's start the first round. I know that some pupils have learnt poems about professions. We are going to listen to them and to find out who can recite poems best. The winner will bring 5 points to his team. Well, who will be the first?

When God created teachers,

Ученик 2: The Housewife
My day is always taken up
With things I have to do,

Учитель: Thank you very much! Now let's vote and decide who was the best. (Проводится голосование, выбирается лучший из выступивших, его команда получает очки).
2-й раунд.
Учитель: Let's begin the second round. I give to each team cards with pictures and 12 cards with the words. You should match them according to the meaning of the words. Do it as quickly as possible!
Слова: sociable, loving, cruel, shy, naughty, friendly, driver, dentist, farmer, nurse, housewife, librarian.
Команды сопоставляют слова с рисунками <Приложение 2>. Затем проверяется правильность выполнения, подсчитываются баллы.
3-й раунд.
Учитель: So, now our score is: Let's find out if the next round will change the situation. In this round you are going to solve the crossword puzzle. Its topic is "Occupations". So you should write down eleven words - names of professions.
Команды заполняют кроссворды <Приложение 1>. Проверяется правильность выполнения, начисляются баллы.
4-й раунд.
Учитель: Now let's begin the next round and see who is the best actor. I need two persons from each team. I give you cards with the names of professions. You should show your profession without saying anything to make your team guess what it is. You may go out for a minute to discuss your actions. The best actors will receive the biggest number of points.
Представители команд показывают профессии с помощью пантомимы, их товарищи по команде догадываются, о каких профессиях идет речь. Оценивается артистизм и скорость догадки. Начисляются баллы.
5-й раунд.
Учитель: And now it's time to start the last round. I give to each team cards with letter combinations. You should use them to make up 6 adjectives. Each words should consist of three parts.
Слова: res-pon-sible, in-telli-gent, ath-le-tic, tal-kat-ive, in-depen-dent, cre-ati-ve.
Команды составляют слова. Каждая команда получает определенное число очков, в зависимости от количества правильно составленных слов.
III. Заключительный этап.
В соответствии с набранной суммой очков выявляется команда-победительница. Победители награждаются дипломами. Подводятся итоги. Учащиеся высказывают свое мнение об игре: что было нового, интересного, что понравилось, что не понравилось, почему.
