Цели урока:

Учебная – совершенствование навыков говорения и чтения.

Развивающая – развитие умений высказываться логично, расширение кругозора.

Воспитательная – привитие учащимся норм здорового образа жизни, любви к спорту.

Речевой материал- Olympic games, motto, flame, mascot, principle.

Оборудование: картины, магнитофон.

Ход урока.

1. Организационное начало урока. Беседа с учащимися о задачах и целях урока.

2. Активизация употребления лексики по теме :

What is the English for?

The first Olympics were held in the year 776 B.C. They were held on the mountain Olymp. That is why the games were called Olympic. Then for a long time the Games were not held. In 1896 the French archaeologist Pierre de Coubertin revived the Olympic Games. The first modern Olympics were held in Athens in 1896. There were twenty six summer and twenty winter games.

  1. Pierre de Coubertin conceived the main symbol the coloured rings. They represent the five continents of the world. Blue represents Europe. Black represents Africa. Red – America. Yellow – Asia. Green –Oceania The flag with rings in the Olympics appeared for the first time in 1920 .
  2. The torch is carried hand to hand by relays of runners from the original site of the Olympic Games at Olympia to the stadium of the Games .
  3. The motto means “ Faster, Higher, Stronger.
