Using intellectual games as revision lessons

Разделы: Иностранные языки, Внеклассная работа

It is a good idea to use intellectual games at the revision lessons. Using them you may revise the material develop listening, grammar and vocabulary skills; stimulate pupils’ interest towards English. I usually use these games at the end of the terms or the year, during the English week. Before the game it is necessary to divide the pupils into two teams. There is a table on the blackboard where they may see four themes for the game: English speaking countries, I like grammar, I know English words, I am an interpreter. Each theme has four questions (picture 1). The first team (to determine a priority the teacher may use English riddles) chooses a theme and a question. Both teams receive the cards with the task. They prepare simultaneously. The first team answers the question and gets points. The second team has a chance to get additional points if the first one fails. The team with the most points is the winner.

This particular game is done for the 6 form, course book:” New Millennium English 6”.

This is a map of the game (for the teacher).
