1. Дотекстовый этап (10мин.)
Boys and Girls it is very interesting for me to learn which holiday is your favourite?
Ребята меня интересует один вопрос. Какой праздник для вас самый любимый? (ребята называют, учитель останавливается на празднике Новый год).
Why is it your favourite holiday?
- Ребята, перед вами лежит текст, посмотрите на картинку, как вы думаете о чем этот текст? (дети называют)
- Так как же будет по-английски Новый год? Да правильно. Повторим эти слова хором.
Посмотрите на слова, данные перед текстом, давайте ознакомимся с ними и попытаемся запомнить. (Слушают на кассете. Один из учеников читает, учитель разъясняет, и дети повторяют хором и по-одному, после прочтения всех слов они поизносится еще раз хором.)
Теперь давайте закроем учебник и попытаемся их вспомнить. Кто вспомнит больше всех слов, получит оценку.
Ребята перед текстом даны вопросы, сначала послушаем их на кассете, затем прочитаем сами и попробуем перевести...
Вы знаете ответы на какой-нибудь из заданных вопросов? (отвечают, если знают).
2. Текстовой этап (20 мин)

Теперь прочитаем его и проверим правильность (ученики читают, учитель поправляет, комментирует грамматику, фонетику)

You know how English people celebrate Christmas. Now read how some of them celebrate the New Year.
NEW YEAR
Not all English people celebrate New Year. Those who docelebrate it on the 31st of December. A lot of people go to Trafalgar Square to see the Christmas tree. They leave a New Year party at home. On that day they wish their dearest and nearest a “Happy New Year”. When Big Ben strikes1 twelve they drink a toast [toust] to the New Year. In America people celebrate New Year, too. They visit their relatives and friends or have parties at home, English and American people often make New Year's resolutions' — they are promises2 for the New Year.
Children make New Year's resolutions, too. This is what Phil, an English boy, wrote: "I often make resolutions but I don't always keep3 them. This year I am going:
- to help Mum about the house:
- to be nice to my little sister;
- to do exercises every morning;
- not to be late for school:
- to go to the swimming pool every day.
My Mum isn't going to eat chocolates, bread or spaghetti. Dad is going to play tennis every day. My Mum and Dad usually keep their resolutions but I don't."

Класс делится на 3 команды (вызываются 3 ученика, остальные называют им число от 1 до 20 , ученики по - одному считают их по рядам, набирая себе команду, повторяя числительные) Затем команды получают задания (не все сразу) и выполняют их, учитывается правильность и быстрота. Каждая команда придумывает название, связанное с Новым годом.
