Данный праздник желательно проводить в конце II четверти после изучения темы “Погода” в 6 классе по учебнику В.П. Кузовлева.
Цели проведения праздника.
Учебная цель: мотивировать учащихся на изучение английского языка; развивать умение задавать вопросы и отвечать на них, описывать картинки о временах года;
Развивающая цель: развивать память, внимание, способности к догадке; развивать творческие способность учащихся при создании проектов "Weather Tree".
Воспитательная цель: формировать у учащихся потребности и способности к сотрудничеству в команде; воспитывать чувство ответственности за совместную работу.
Оформление кабинета: на доске - рисунки учащихся с изображением разных времен года, на стенах разноцветные шары, создающие праздничную атмосферу. Звучит музыка, пока все участники и гости собираются на праздник.
ИКТ: компьютер с проктором и экраном.
Подготовка к празднику.
Примерно за 1-2 недели до праздника я предлагаю учащимся нарисовать картинки с изображением разных времен года на альбомных листах для украшения кабинета. Некоторым учащимся раздаю стихи о временах года. Отдельным учащимся предлагаю принять участие в инсценировках и раздаю слова для заучивания.
В празднике участвуют 2 команды 6-ых классов, между которыми проходит соревнование. Другие классы 6-ые и 7-ые участвуют в сценках и читают стихи о временах года и погоде.
План проведения праздника.
Говорит ведущий (учитель или ученик старших классов): “Оur party is devoted to different seasons. At our party we'll recite poems, sing songs, dance, speak about weather and draw weather maps. First we'll listen to some poems.
Учащиеся исполняют песню "World's Weather"
In the North it's snowing, and in the South it's hot.
In the East the wind is blowing, and in the west - it's not.
In the South the sun is shining, and in the West the sky is blue.
In the East it's raining, and in the North it's raining too.
Учащиеся читают стихи о временах года:

Ведущий: Now you'll see a small competition between two teams. This is the team of form 6B. This is the team of form 6A.
- First let's play game "Snowball". Each team should name as many words as you can. Begin your sentence "The weather may be...' Учащиеся каждой команды no очереди называют прилагательные, описывающие погоду.
- The next task is: describe the picture. Одной команде предлагается описать картинку “Зимние забавы”, другой команде - картинку “Летом в лесу”.
- Каждой группе дают листок с изображением погоды в разных странах <Рисунок 1>. После прослушивания предложений о погоде дети должны отметить картинки, соответствующие предложенному описанию.
Ведущий: "Listen to some sentences about weather. Tick the correct picture. Текст для аудирования:
“It will be cloudy in England but no rain. The weather in South England will be sunny with fresh winds but no rain. In Midlands there will be fog. It will be dry but perhaps stormy in the afternoon. 4, Каждой группе дается контурная карта Европы <Рисунок 2>. Учащимся предлагается прослушать текст о погоде в разных странах Европы и нарисовать символы погоды и отметить температуру.
Ведущий. Listen about weather in Europe. Draw the weather symbols and the temperature on the map. Текст для аудирования:
“Spain: Sunny all day with wind and temperatures 14—16 above zero. France: Cloudy with winds, sunny periods with temperatures 12— 14 above zero. Germany: Rainy with temperatures only 10 above zero. England: Cloudy and foggy in the morning. The temperatures are 10— 12 above zero. Italy, Greece: Sunny all day, no rain with temperatures 16—18 above zero. Scandinavia: Rainy all day, windy, 9—11 above zero”
5. Now listen to some riddles and try to guess them:

6. Ведущий: "At home the children made projects "Weather Tree". Let's listen to each team". Из каждой группы выходят представители, представляют свои проекты с презентациями.
7. Ведущий: "Our competition comes to an end. Now our experts will tell us the results. Члены жюри объявляют результаты соревнования и вручают детям медали.
Праздник продолжается показом небольших пьес, подготовленных заранее. Ведущий: "We continue our party. Now you'll see some small plays. Let's listen to the students of form 6A. They'll tell us how animals prepare for winter."
Учащиеся инсценируют пьесу "Preparing for winter." Действующие герои: squirrel, mouse,hedgehog.
Squirrel: "I am a busy squirrel”.
Mouse: "I am a tired mouse."
Hedgehog: "I am a little hedgehog, who is looking for a house."
Squirrel: "I am a busy squirrel, filling in my store. I collect my nuts in autumn for when there are no more".
Mouse: "I am a tired mouse, ready for my rest, I want to sleep through winter -so I'll go into my nest".
Hedgehog: "I am a little hedgehog, who is looking for a house. I haven't found a shelter -So I'll have to go with mouse."
The students of form 7A show a play "The Flower Meeting."
Characters: Queen Rose, Snowdrop, Violet, Buttercup, Bluebell, Corn-flower, Sunflower.
In the Queen Rose's palace all the flowers gathered to decide their turn to come on the Earth. The queen Rose is sitting on her throne at one side. The flowers come up to her one by one and present themselves.
Snowdrop: "I am a nice little flower in a white dress. I have no smell".
Queen Rose: "Your name will be Snowdrop. You will be the first flower in spring. People will see you on the places where the snow becomes water in the sun. They will like you very much".
The Snowdrop bows and stands at one side of the throne.
Violet: "I am a spring flower, too. My dress is violet. I am very nice, as you see."
Queen Rose: "Your name is Violet. You will come after the snowdrop, a little later, when there is no snow in the fields, the days are longer and it is warmer." The Violet bows and stands at the other side of the throne.
Buttercup: "I am a little flower. I am dressed in a nice yellow dress. I like the sun, I like it when it's warm."
Queen Rose: "Then you must come in summer, when it is warm and the sun shines all day long. Your name will be Buttercup."
It bows to the Queen and stands next to the Snowdrop.
Bluebell: "I am blue like the sky, and my dress is like a bell. I like the sun too."
Queen Rose: "Oh, I know, your name will be bluebell. People will see you on the grass. You will make the fields beautiful. It bows and stands next to the Violet.
Corn-flower: "My color is blue, too. I make the fields beautiful, but I make the harvest not very rich."
Queen Rose: "Your name, my beautiful one, will be Corn-flower. People will see you in the fields all the summer.'
The Corn - flower bows and steps aside.
Sunflower: "Look at me, please. I am like the sun."
Queen Rose: "Yes, you look like the sun, so your name will be sunflower. People will see you in the country in August, and you will look at the sun every day."
The Sunflower bows and goes to one side of the throne.
Queen Rose (stands up and goes to the middle of the room): "Well, my dear flowers. Now you know that you are spring and summer flowers. You are not garden flowers. People can see most of you only in the fields. Now let's sing and dance. Spring and summer will come here soon, and you must be ready to come together with them."
One of the flowers: "Let us make a merry ring,
Talk and laugh, and dance and sing!
Quickly, quickly, come away,
For it is a pleasant day!"
All the flowers make a ring and dance.
На этом праздник заканчивается. Под музыку все расходятся.
