Цели.
1. Практическая: развивать коммуникативную компетенцию обучающихся через освоение нового лексического материала по теме “ Разные страны, разные люди”, обучить чтению с целью понимания и извлечения основной информации из текста.
2. Развивающая: развивать и активизировать речемыслительную деятельность обучающихся, их способности к межкультурному взаимодействию.
3. Воспитательная: формировать положительное отношение к культуре разных стран, к народам, проживающим в этих странах, к языкам, на которых они говорят.
Задачи.
1. Совершенствовать навыки чтения.
2. Познакомиться с названиями разных континентов, стран, их столицами, с названиями национальностей народов, с названиями языков, на которых они говорят.
3. Развивать беглость и гибкость речи, научить варьировать способы выражения мысли.
4. Развивать умение извлекать информацию из предложенного материала, устанавливать связь, в том числе логическую, обобщать изложенные факты.
Оборудование: компьютер, интерактивная доска, аудиомагнитофон, аудиозаписи, картинки для оформления, раздаточный материал для обучающихся.

Вступительная часть.
Организационный момент. Цели и задачи урока.
Основная часть.
1. Warming-up.
Look at the screen with the map of the world. Can you name in Russian the continents of the world, the countries and their capitals?
2. Let’s read and translate the text “Continents and countries”. Open your books at page 88. Before reading the text let’s learn to read these proper names. Look at the screen and read after me. (T—>Cl).
3. Now, let’s read and translate the text. Pay attention to the pronunciation of the proper names. P1—>P2—>P3.
4. Now, your task is to find in the text the sentences which describe … (On the screen).
5. You’ve learnt some facts about geography. Could you answer the questions? (On the screen).

6. Now, boys and girls, I think you are ready to make a short quiz. Shut your books and fill in the blanks all the information you’ve learnt. (on the screen). Let’s check up. Look at the screen

7. I think it’s high time for us to learn to read the proper names of different countries and their capitals. Look at the screen, read, pay attention to your pronunciation and try to remember the type of the national flag of the country.
8. Let’s play a game. Your task is to choose the national flag of the country, to name the country, its capital and try to describe the flag.
9. Look at the board again and name:
a) 6 countries in Europe;
b) 3 countries in Asia;
c) 2 countries in America
Could you give the name of the continent which is almost the same as the name of the country situated on it?
10. The next task is to learn to read the names of the people of different nationalities and the languages they speak. Look at the screen again. Repeat after me. (T—>Cl).
11. A role-play “At an international conference”. Imagine that you are at an international conference. Choose your role and introduce yourself. Say, what your name (nationality) is, where you are from, what language you speak, what is the name of the town you live in. Use the following plan. (On the screen). P1—>P2—>P3.
