  • Развивать навыки критического мышления посредством таких приемов как таблица ЗХУ, составление синквейна
  • Развивать умение работать в группе, отстаивать свою точку зрения
  • Развивать языковую догадку, память, внимание
  • Стимулировать речемыслительную деятельность учащихся

T: Hello guys. Take your seats.

T: First, look at the screen of the computer…(Приложение1)

T:

  1. What feelings do these pictures arouse in you? (sympathy, concern, worry about future, sadness, melancholy)
  2. Would you like to live in such a world? (No I’d like to live in peace, without, terrorist attacs, poverty, starvation etc)
  3. How can common people help to keep peace? (They can be tolerant, respectful, pacifists, kind, generous, sympathetic, helpful etc)
  4. Can you agree that if nothing had be done to keep peace we would have lived in a chaos?
  5. Do you know which organization is responsible for keeping peace in the world?

S: This is UNO

T: Right you are. And today we shall speak about this organization and its impact on our lives.

1. Отработка основного лексического материала урока (стр 95–96)

For this aim I propose to open our books on the 95 page where topical vocabulary is and to learn new words before we start. You have 1-2 min to look through the words. Now look at the blackboard and match new vocabulary with relative words or synonymous words.

To defend=to protect
To carry out=to implement
To fight=to combat

What can governments hold=to hold meetings, conferences, summits, talk on problems etc.
What are countries entitled to = independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity
What are individuals entitled to = civil and political rights, liberties

T: So, now we can complete our listening task. This record reveals the scope and impact of the UNs work. Your task is to do the test. True, False, Not Given (Приложение 2)

T: Ok, time is up. Lets check.

T: Now, after the listening it’s high time to discuss in pairs given information. Please write down what you know about UNs in the first column of your tables. Each of you has a table (Приложение 3)

3. Совершенствование грамматики. Умение задавать вопросы

T: I see you know a lot/But what else would you like to know. Discus and write down your questions in the second column of your tables.

T: Please read aloud you questions.

T: To help you to answer the questions I’ll give you texts to read. Try to get answers to the questions. Fulfill the third column. (Приложение 4)

T: Well, have all the questions got answers? That’s great.

5. Формирование навыков говорения

T: Now you know the duties and responsibilities of such a serious and important organization as the UN. Today you are going to try to be in UN’s shoes. Imagine that you are the representatives of the permanent members of the UNO and today is the summit on a very urgent problem. I give you texts with the UN Secretary-General’s speech. The task to your country is to answer only one question What does your country do for PEACE?
