Pupil I: Good afternoon, dear guests!

Today is the 18th of February. It is Wednesday. The weather is fine. Everything is all right and we are at the program “Freshman Band”. Our meeting is devoted to Conditional Sentences and Famous American pop – group “`N Sync”.

Today we would like to attract your attention to our program. Of course, we understand that America is rich in famous people but we try to offer you some facts about this pop – group. If you listen to us attentively you will knew a lot of interesting information. Let us begin! I want to introduce the first guest…

Pupil II: Well the first page is quiz program (Warming up). I want you to answer my questions. Music is a part of my life, so I think you have the same opinion.

1 Imagine you have a chance to stay at home or to go to the concert. Which of these will you choose and why?

2 Which do you enjoy more: going to the theatre or going to the musical concert?

3 Do you go to the disco? How often?

4 Who is your favourite pop – singer or pop – group?

5 Does music help you to escape the problems of everyday life?

Pupil III: “`N Sync” is my favourite pop – group. I have a lot of their photoes, postcards, CDs. I buy a new CD, study the information printed on disc booklets. And I also try to find out everything about my favourite singers. I read a lot of specialized magazines and books. I write letters to some fan – clubs in others towns and countries, so I have to brush up my English. I never missed a concert of my favourite group.

I want you to do this work. Look at the blackboard, read and translate the following words.

- Say what association have you got when we mention these words.

- Say what features are necessary if you want to be a pop singer?

Nonsense. Music is universal language. I think it is worth seeing and listening to them. First of all they have an attractive appearance, they are very creative and persistent young people.

The Famous American pop – group `N Sync is going to visit our town. Tomorrow the concert will be held. You are invited for this concert. It will be fun. `N Sync is a very popular pop – group. These four young people are popular not only in their native country but also all over the world. Their motto is “Never capitulate”. Their symbol is fire. Their songs are full of energy and very melodic. They become smash hit. Welcome to this concert!

Pupil I: Answer the questions:

1 – When is `N Sync going to visit our town?

2 – Are their songs full of energy?

3 – Will you go to the concert if you are free? Why?

Pupil VII: If I were free I would go to the concert because it is my favourite group and I want to tell some words about this group.

Like the Backstreet Boys before them, the teenage male vocal group `N Sync

emerged from Orlando, Florida; though formed in 1996, their roots trace back much earlier to singers JC Chasez and Justin Timberlake, who together previously co – starred on the Disney Channels. The Mickey Mouse Club before later relocating to Nashville, where they worked on solo projects with the same vocal coach and songwriters. Timberlake soon returned to Orlando where he befriended Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone; with Chaser, the four agreed to form a band, and with the addition of bass James Lance Bass, `N Sync was complete. Hooking up with a series of producers including Dennis Pop, the group recoded their self- titled debut LP, initially released on BMG Ariola Munich; `N Sync soon became an overnight success throughout much of Europe with the singles “ I want you Back” and “Tearing up my Heart”. Both becoming major hits. The album was released in the USA in the spring of 1998 and accompanied by a tour of the nations roller rinks it became an American hit as well: “Home for Christmas” followed later that some year.
