A TRIP TO DISNEYLAND
Teacher: I need two teams. And now I'm going to divide the class into 2 teams. It's easy. There are 15 cards in my hands. I’ll come to each of you and you'll chose one of the cards: A or B. That is the name of your team. There are two tables in our classroom. This table is for the team of As and that one is for the team of Bs. Take the chairs and go to your seats.
4. The Magic Gate.
Teacher: Now you are ready. So today we are going to make a trip to Disney World. It's a magic world, you know. You'll see and learn many unusual and interesting things. But to get there you must run a special test. Only good people can get to Disney World. Here is the gate for you to pass. The gate will open if you say what people are good.
( The words on the gate: kind ( good, gentle, helpful), polite (has good manners, not rude to others), friendly (has many friends), respectful (loves and respect people).) Well done. The way is free.
5. About Walt Disney.
Teacher: So we are at Disney World. Do you know who is the Father of the fantastic world? (The portrait of W.Disney is shown.)
What facts and episodes from Walt Disney's life can you remember?
( Walt Disney was born in Chicago on December 5, 1901. When he grew up, he began to draw pictures and create cartoons. W.Disney created a lot of short cartoons and many longer films. One day he had an
idea to make a mouse the main character of the cartoon. He saw this mouse character as a funny little thing, who could speak, dance and sing and who, in tact could live like a man. His wife, Lillian, called him Mickey. In 1928 the audience saw Mickey Mouse on the screen for the first time. Mickey became very popular and soon Walt Disney was famous. To many people his name means the world of cartoons. Besides W.Disney built Disneyland, a special place for children and parents to have fun together. It is in California near Los Angeles .
6. Disney characters.
Teacher: What is your favorite Disney character? (The children may name such characters as Snow White, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Winnie-the-Pooh, Mawgli, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Aladdin, and Piglet etc.)
I wonder if you can spell the name of your favorite character in the right way? (The pupils write the names on the blackboard in turns.)
7. Riddles.
Teacher: I see you know all Disney characters. Now each of the teams will try to make up 2 riddles about some characters using the key-words on the cards. Don't show the picture to your opponents.
(The teams receive two cards each. There is the picture of a character on one side and some key-words on the other side. The children must make up some sentences describing the appearance of a character.)
8. Agree or disagree.
Teacher: Now you'll hear some statements. Some of them are true and some of them are false. You must listen to the tape very carefully and then agree or disagree and try to correct the wrong statement.
(The children hear the following statements:
- The Sleeping Beauty fell asleep and in her dream she found herself in Wonderland.
- Winnie-the-Pooh climbed up a high tree, couldn't get honey and
soon he found himself on the ground. - Godmother helped Cinderella. She transformed a simple water melon into a magic coach.
- Mawgli didn't want to go to school and soon he found himself in the Land of Boobies.
- Mickey Mouse was strong and brave. He always came to the rescue.
- Snow White was upset. She lost her slipper at the Royal Ball. )
9. The Letter from Mickey Mouse.
Teacher: Oh, my dear! What an absent-minded person I am! I forgot an important thing.
This is the letter from Mickey Mouse. It is for you. Let's read it.
(One of the pupils reads the letter and the rest of them do exercises.
The content of the letter:
Hi, my dear friends!
I am Mickey Mouse.I live in Disney World. I want you to be my
friends. And now ,please, do the following exercises.
Stand up!
Step-step! Clap-clap!
Turn yourself around.
The hands upon the head you place.
On the shoulders,
On the face.
Then put them in front of you
And gently clap: one, two, three.

10. Disney's Films.
Teacher: You know the audience always feels comfortable and enjoys Disney's cartoons and films very much. Why do you think people like them? On the blackboard there are some words which can help you answer. The are mixed up. You must put the words in the right order to make a sentence.
(The following sentences are put into code:
- Disney's stories end happily.
- All his films are easy and nice to watch.
* The films are full of adventures. - Thy are impressive.
- Disney's characters are full of optimism and success.
- They are clever and friendly.
* The films teach us to be kind and honest.
* His stories make us believe in our dreams.)
11. Video Trip to Disneyland.
Teacher: Now we'll find ourselves in the heart of Disney World. This is a special place for children and their parents to have fun together. Have you guessed what I mean? (Disneyland)
Where is it? Can you find it on the map? (One of the pupils shows the spot on the map.)
Now we'll see a video fragment about Disneyland. Please watch carefully and try to notice what people can see and do in the wonderful park.
(The fragment lasts 2-3 minutes. It is accompanied by the song "It's A Small World" from the film "Aladdin".)
I'll say a word and you must make up a sentence with the word.
(The key-words: people, hear, street, magic, enjoy, find ourselves, the Disney characters, stars, take, mountains.
The children may make up the following sentences:
We can see many people.
They enjoy charming music.
They watch Mickey's Street Party.

12. Making Score.
Teacher: Our trip is coming to an end. It's time to find out which team is the winner. Please, make your score. I want you to imagine yourselves in Disneyland and try to draw a picture . It is your homework. And then we'll make an exhibition.
