Презентация.

Well, thank you for your answers. And now I invite you to join us in our tour around British Art. Why do we need art?

3. Основная часть урока.

Учащиеся рассказывают монологи (Презентация.)

I would like to tell you about Thomas Gainsborough. He was the first creator of landscape painting and one of the greatest portraitists of the 18 century.(слайд 2-4)

Thomas was born in a family of a cloth merchant and got an excellent education. Gainsborough’s works differed from the works of British painters. His portraits were simple and full of charm. All his life he expressed love to nature. Some of his pictures we can find in St. Petersburg in the Hermitage.(слайд5-6)

Учитель задаёт вопросы классу:

1. Who was the first creator of the English school of landscape painting?

2. What family was he born in?

3. Why did his works differ from the works of British painters?

So, let’s go on. Who will be the next?

P2 There are a lot of sights in London. But my favourite is St. Paul’s Cathedral.(слайд 7-8 ) This Cathedral is very beautiful. It is full of monuments. Here you can find 263 steps to the Whispering Gallery. This Cathedral is the best work of Christopher Wren (слайд 9).

Christopher Wren was a mathematician, an astronomer and inventor. In our days Wren is known as the ‘’architect of London’’. But he became famous only after his death. Christopher Wren devoted 35 years to the building of St. Paul’s Cathedral. He was buried in the Cathedral.(cлайд 10 )

Teacher:

1. What is the best work of Christopher Wren?

2. How many years did Christopher Wren rebuilt St. Paul’s Cathedral?

3. Where was Wren buried?

When we speak of England we think of course about William Shakespeare. Let’s listen to the next report.

P3 William Shakespeare(слайд 11) was born on April 23, 1564 in Stradford-on-Avon. (слайд 12) In his childhood he attended the Grammar School. He married Ann Hathaway in 1582. William had three children . In London he organized the Globe theatre.(слайд 13)

Shakespeare is popular all over the world. He is famous for his comedies, tragedies and sonnets. I like his ‘’Romeo and Juliet’’(слайд14) . Nino Roto, a composer from Italy, wrote a melody to the film ‘’Romeo and Juliet’’(слайд 15)

Teacher: Now , let’s listen to this beautiful music (Тема любви, см. Приложение 1)

The pupils dramatized episode from this play (ученики,одетые в костюмы Ромео и Джульетты,показывают отрывок из пьесы)

Romeo and Juliet”

Romeo:

He jests at scars that never felt a wound.
But soft! What light through yonder window breaks?
It is the East, and Juliet is the sun!
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief,
That thou her maid art far more fair than she,
Be not her maid, since she is envious,
Her vestal livery is but sick and green,
And none but fools do wear it. Cast it off.
It is my lady; O, it is my love:
O that she knew she were.
She speaks, yet she says nothing. What of that?
Her eye discourses; I will answer it.
See how she leans her cheek upon her hand,
That I might touch that cheek.

Juliet:

O, Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or, if thou will not, be but sworn my love
And I’ll no longer be a Capulet.

Romeo: Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?

Juliet:

`Tis but thy name that is my enemy.
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague!
What’s Montague? It is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man! O, be some other name!
What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo, call`d,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name;
And for thy name, which is no part of thee,
Take all myself.

Romeo:

I take thee at thy word.
Call me but love, and I’ll be new baptized,
Henceforth I never will be Romeo.

Teacher: I'm fond of the group '' Beatles’’. One of your classmates is keen on this group too. Listen to his report attentively and be ready to answer some questions.

P5 ’’ The Beatles’’ was formed at the end of 50-s (слайд16). John Lennon,Paul McCartney,George Harrison,Ringo Star were very talented boys from Liverpool. They made a revolution in pop-music history. The boys composed songs for the youth. At first, the group performed music that was influenced by American rock’n roll. However, their experimental songs, imaginative lyrics and catchy melodies soon became very popular. The group ‘’Beatles’’ split up in 1970 (слайд17)

Teacher:

1. When was the ‘’Beatles’’ formed

2. Did they make a revolution in classical music?

3. The birthplace of the performers was London, wasn’t it?

All of you know the song ‘’Mishelle’’, let’s sing it all together(учащиеся поют песню,звучит одновременно исполнение группы “ Битлз”) (слайд 18) см. Приложение 2

Teacher: The history of Modern Musical Theatre is impossible to imagine without Andrew Lloyd Webber. (cлайд19)

P6. Andrew Lloyd Webber was born in London. His parents were professional musicians. Andrew began to play different instruments when he was a child.

Webber studied at a college of Oxford University. One of his first musicals was rock-opera Jesus Christ Superstar. In 1992 Andrew was knighted for services to the Motherland and in 1997 he received the lordship.(слайд 20). His musicals ‘’Cats’’ and ‘’The Phantom of the Opera’’ have been successfully playing in London and New York since it opened many years ago. My favorite is ‘’The Phantom of the Opera’’(слайд 21).

Teacher: My dear friends! What musicals by Webber have you seen?

And now I invite some of your classmates to sing the part from the Opera.(юноша и девушка исполняют отрывок,одновременно звучит оригинал)(см. Приложение 3)

Teacher: Boys and girls! Our party is to the end.I hope you’ve got some new facts about famous British people. I’d like to give you a little homework; to tell your parents all the information you’ve known at the lesson. And thank you for your good work!
