Цель: Cистематизация знаний страноведческого характера для расширения кругозора учащихся.

Задачи:

  • формирование психических процессов внимания, памяти, воображения, мышления, логики при восприятии иноязычного материала
  • актуализация лексических единиц в монологических высказываниях по теме
  • создание условий для охраны здоровья детей.
  • развитие умений работы в одной команде. (вне конкуренции)

Оборудование: компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, интерактивная доска, презентации Power Point

Оформление класса: Буквы Q U E S T; пустой лист ватмана (который в последствии будет использован для рефлексии); карта части Лондона; городские объекты

Используемые технологии: Игровая; технология коммуникативного обучения иноязычной культуре; ИКТ.

Межпредметные связи: с историей, географией.

Подготовительная работа: подготовка презентаций и сообщений учащимися об адмирале Нельсоне и Мадам Тюссо; презентации к уроку; карточки.

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент: Ученики проходят, рассаживаются по местам (14 человек занимают свои места, так как всегда сидят в классе).

T: Good morning, children.

SS: Good morning, teacher.

T: We are glad to see you.

SS: We are glad to see you too.

T: Today we are not going to have an English lesson. Today we’ll play a computer game. Do you like to play computer games?

SS: Yes...

2. Речевая разминка: (Презентация 1)

ET: What‘s your favourite computer game? What kind of game is it?

SS:

T: So you see there are different kinds of computer games. What are they?

(на экране появляется табличка с видами игр, дети читают названия)

SS: Fighting and 3-d shooters. Arcades. Strategies. Quests. Races. Puzzles

ET: We won’t play all the kinds of the computer games. You should choose only one of them. And it is your first task. What kind of game shall we play? Look at the screen, look around, look back, look under your desks, under your chairs and find the letters .

(дети находят 5 букв и складывают из них слово “quest”)

ET: What are the rules of the quest game?

SS: I should get over the levels in this game by collecting some artefacts or coins or pictures or words or some other things. I should do the game tasks to get them.

T: Yes, you are right (Презентация 2). Welcome to the game “Town Life”. For each level you will get some city objects and at the end of the game you should build your own city.

3. Level 1 (фонетическая зарядка+аудирование):

T: Take card #1. Read the task. (Приложение 1)

T: Listen again, check and pay attention to the names of the cities.

(учащиеся слушают во второй раз, после второго раза все вместе проверяют услышанное, после каждого правильного ответа на карте загорается кружок с названием города)

T: Stop! We have almost finished the first level. You’ve got some city objects for the first level. Name the city objects.

3. Level 2. London sights (Презентация 4)

SS: Is it London?

ET: Well done! Of course it is London! Where are we now?

SS: We are at Trafalgar Square the main square in London.

ET: What monument is there?

SS: The monument to Admiral Nelson.

ET: Let’s learn more about this famous British person. Take card#2 and complete the chart. Vanya, show your project and speak about Nelson.

SS: It’s St. Paul’s Cathedral.

T: What do you know about this sight?

S1: It was the first Christian church. Sir Christopher Wren built it. It took him 35 years. Now it is one of the beautiful churches in the world.

S2: It has a Whisper Gallery under the dome.

T: What kind of sights is this? (слайд)

SS: It’s “Odeon”, the biggest cinema in the world.

T: what can you do there?

SS: I can watch a film there.

SS: It’s the British museum.

ET: What do you know about it?

S1: It’s one of the largest museums in the world.

T: What can you see there?

SS: I can see a lot of sculptures and other interesting things there.

S2: It has a large Reading Room

S3: The film “The Mummy. Part 2” was shot in the British Museum.

ET: What sight is it? (слайд)

SS: It’s Buckingham Palace.

ET: What is it famous for?

S1: It is the official home of the Qween.

ET: Look at the photo. Is the Queen at home? Why?

S2: Yes, she is, because the flag is at the top of the Palace.

SS: It’s the Tower of London.

T: Oh! It is a very mysterious sight. Do you remember its history?

S1: Yes, we do. First it was a fortress, then it was a prison, now it is a museum.

T: What legend is connected with this place?

S1: The ravens live in the Tower. If they leave the Tower it will fall.

S2: There is a special man Raven master who looks after them.

SS: It’s Madame Tussoud’s.

T: What can you see there?

SS: We can see a lot of wax figures of famous people.

T: Let’s find out who Madam Tussaud was. Please take card #2 and go on to complete the chart. Tanya, show your project and tell us your story about Madam Tussaud.

S2: It is the seat of the British Parliament.

T: Please close your eyes. Can you hear? We are on this boat. We are sailing down the river Thames to the other side of Westminster Palace (this is the other name of the Houses of Parliament). And now you’ll see another London sight. Guess what it is. (слайд)

4. Level 3. The London Eye (Презентация 5)

T: Well, you have finished the second level. You’ve got some city objects for this level. Name them.

The London Eye

The London Eye was opened on New Year’s Eve in 1999 to celebrate the Millennium. It is 135 metres high. From the top on a clear day you can see all London. The London Eye has 32 capsules. Each capsule is for 25 people. Every “trip” lasts 30 minutes. It moves slowly at a speed of 15 metres a minute. It never stops. Passengers can get on when it is moving.

Opening hours: Daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the summer and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the winter.

Tickets: are available on-line or by phone. The ticket office is next to the Eye.

How to get there: 5 minutes’ walk from the Waterloo Underground Station

T: Oh! Yes! We know the way to King Street. Who can find King Street on the map?

T: Listen, everyone. King Street is an unusual street. It is a magic portal. Would you like to go through it? (слайд)

Т: Can you see this place? This is the place for your own town. You are the winners. Come here and build your own town. Now you have enough artefacts for it.

Рефлексия: Do you like your town? If you like our lesson very much and you understand everything and know a lot of facts about London you will live in the red houses. If you don’t understand anything you will live in the blue houses. If you understand nothing you will live in the green house.

Домашнее задание: Open your diaries: Your home task is to give a name for your town and explain why. (записано на доске)
