Задачи:

  • Образовательные: Способствовать развитию практического владения языком, умению вести беседу, создавать условия для формирования лексических навыков говорения, расширить кругозор по теме.
  • Познавательные: Развитие лингво-культурной компетенции, активизации лексики и лексико-грамматических конструкций по теме.
  • Воспитательные: создавать условия для формирования способности к критическому мышлению, воспитывать умение внимательно слушать, уважать другое мнение, формировать потребности и способности к сотрудничеству и взаимопомощи при работе в группах.
  • Развивающие: создавать условия для развития исследовательских умений учащихся, способности к распределению внимания.

Оборудование урока: презентация урока, презентации учащихся, карточки с заданиями, задания на доске, аудиозапись.

Ход урока

1. Орг. момент

Good morning, children. I hope you are fine today/ I think we can start, so let`s get down to work. Let me tell you a few words about the aim of the lesson.

Today we are going to talk about education in different countries.

We should revise the material on the topic and revise the words and grammar material. (Слайд 1)

2. Some revision. While learning we spoke about education in the UK, the USA, Australia. I know that you have prepared your presentations.

First of all, I want to make sure you haven`t forgoten the words connected to the topic "Education".

Look at the word box on your desks and put them under the following headings.

  1. education,
  2. punishment (слайд 2)
Education, punishment, educate, punish, compulsory, lines, higher, detention, private, report, secondary, suspension, state, exclusion.

3. Phonetic drills.

4. Now let`s listen to the poem about school days by Susan Whitworth. (one pupil reads the poem)

5. Work in groups.

The first group speaks about advantages of school education.

The second group speaks about disadvantages of school education.

Advantages Disadvantages
Become smarter, have time for reading, take part in school activities, have good and experienced teachers, have good and interesting traditions, develop our imagination, study interesting subjects, learn new things, prepare for adult life, have a lot of friends, enjoy school life and friendship. Don`t need so much knowledge, have no time for sports and hobbies, get up early in the morning every day, be tired of doing homework, work too hard, not to be allowed to do what you want,

depend on teachers` mood, have boring lessons, be afraid of some teachers, have too many extra subjects, worry about getting good marks, have many tests.

6. Presentations of children. (Everybody watches the presentations, then pupils discuss them).

7. Revise your school rules

Please tell us what you can and can`t do at school.

8. Grammar material (second conditional). Miss in the proper words. (First the pupils revise the grammar material) (слайды 5 и 6))

11. What word is missed? (There are words on the blackboard. The teacher takes away one word and the children guess)
