Ход урока

1.

Teacher: Good morning, children!

Students: Good morning, our teacher!

Teacher: Take your seats, please. Glad to see you. How are you?

Students: Fine, thanks. And you?

Teacher: I’m OK, too. Who is missing today? Do you know why?

2. [ Slide 1]

Teacher: Let’s start our lesson. Today we are going to Eeyore’s Btirthday (slide 1). Let’s train some sounds at first. Repeat it after me:

[ϴ] (на доске написаны буквосочетание “th” и звук в транскрибции)

I thought, I thought of thinking of thanking you.

Agatha’s birthday is on Thursday

3. [ Slide 2]

Teacher: Let’s have a look at the plan of our lesson. We’ll revise some words on the topic “Birthday” and the construction “There is/ there are”, then we’ll train with the irregular words a little. After that we’ll make a musical break. And after the break we’ll learn about something interesting about Eeyore’s Btirthday. And at the end of our lesson we’ll try to make a dialogue. So, we are starting.

4. [ Slide 3]

Teacher - Students:

Do you celebrate your birthday?

Do you usually have a birthday party?

Who do you invite to your party?

Do they bring you presents?

What do you like to get as presents?

What do you do at the party?

etc.

5. [ Slide 4]

Teacher: OK. Now let’s revise the construction “There is/ there are”. Look at the pictures and tell us what there is or what there isn’t on your holiday table. For example: Is there a cake on the holiday table? Are there hamburgers on the holiday table?

Students describe the picture using the construction “There is/ there are”.

6. [ Slide 5]

Teacher: Now I’d like to know if you remember irregular verbs. Look at the picture! Some of you will make questions with the verbs and some of you will answer.

Students choose the partners

S1: Did you have a party last month?

S2: Yes, I did. I had a party last month.

etc.

7. [ Slide 6]

Teacher: Now I see you are tired a little. So, let’s have a musical break. Let’s learn a Christmas song “Jingle Bells”. I’m sure you’ll like it.

8. [ Slide 7]

Teacher: And now look at this picture. Eeyore had a birthday party yesterday. Listen to the text and then tell me who was there at the party and who wasn’t and why.

Teacher reads the text (Application 1)

Students: There was Winnie-the Pooh, Pigglet and Rabbit at the party. Kenga and Roo couldn’t come because Roo was ill.

( if there is some time teacher may ask some more questions about the party)

9. [ Slide 8]

Teacher: So, we know Roo wasn’t at the party. But I think he wanted to know about it. So, he is calling his friend Pigglet. You can see their dialogue at the slide and you have the same text on your desks. Let’s role play it.

Students read the dialogue by roles 2-3 times

10. [ Slide 7]

Teacher: Now, look at this picture again and try to act the dialogue without the text.

Students make the similar dialogue

11. [ Slide 9]

Teacher: I’m pleased with you very much. We have done a lot. And now – your home task: please, make a story about your birthday party. Your marks for today are… . Our lesson is over. See you later.
