Цели урока:

Познавательный аспект:

  1. Увеличение объёма знаний об особенностях различных субкультур.
  2. Знакомство с их атрибутикой.

Развивающий аспект:

  1. Развитие творческих способностей к сравнению и сопоставлению полученных знаний.
  2. Развитие способности логически излагать своё мнение.

Воспитательный аспект:

  1. Осознание, что положительного и, что отрицательного в различных субкультурах.
  2. Развитие кругозора по теме.

Учебный аспект: Развитие речевых умений.

Задачи урока:

  • совершенствование речевых умений по теме;
  • обобщение и систематизация полученных знаний.

Оборудование: учебник, компьютеры, мультимедиапроектор, мультимедийная доска.

Социокультурная информация: молодёжные субкультуры.

Лексический материал: Fashion, ridiculous, casual clothes, a snob, stylish, glamorous, a bargain, to influence smb, image, to be labelled, to dye one’s hair, extravagant, elegant, Punks, Emos, Goths, Rappers, Grungers, Preppies, Hippies, Skinheads, Bikers.

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент. Задачи урока.

Good morning, children! I’m glad to see you again. Sit down, please.
Today we have an unusual lesson, there are guests there. The topic of our lesson is Fashion and Teenagers. Teenagers’ subculture.
Today we’ll remember words and phrases about fashion and subculture, try to identify attribute characteristics with particular subculture and make mini-projects about subcultures. I hope it will be interesting for you.

2. Фонзарядка. (Презентация учителя. Слайд 2).

T: Let’s begin with phonetic drills. Try to pronounce the words and the sounds correctly. Listen to me and repeat after me :

Fashion, ridiculous, casual clothes, a snob, stylish, glamorous, a bargain, to influence smb, image, to be labelled, to dye one’s hair, extravagant, elegant, Punks, Emos, Goths, Rappers, Grungers, Preppies, Hippies, Skinheads, Bikers.

Answer my questions, please:

  1. Do you care about fashion?
  2. You like to stand out, don’t you?
  3. What clothes do you prefer?
  4. Clothes are a status thing, aren’t they?
  5. Must clothes show your individuality?
  6. Who influences your tastes, interests and your lifestyle?
  7. Are you a shopaholic?
  8. Can you name teenagers’ styles?

4. Отработка лексики по теме. (Презентация учителя. Слайд 4).

a) T: And now your task is: Match the words with the definitions.

  • Something you buy really cheaply (bargain).
  • Somebody who thinks that he is better than other people (snob).
  • Something unusual (original).
  • Something that’s OK for the situation (casual clothes).
  • When shops reduce their prices (in the sales).
  • Comfortable clothes that you wear in informal situations (suitable).
  • Expensive and elegant clothes (fancy clothes).

b) T: Translate the sentences into English. (Презентация учителя. Слайд 5).

  • Я не люблю выделяться.
  • Я покупаю вещи на распродажах.
  • Эта рубашка очень дорогая, но немодная.
  • Это платье – крик моды.
  • Мне нет дела до моды, я ношу удобные вещи.
  • Его одежда и модная, и практичная.
  • Он носит кожаный жакет и ковбойскую шляпу.
  • Эти туфли красивые, но непрактичные. Они белые.
  • Они любят говорить о вампирах и конце света.

5. Практика устной речи. Презентации учащихся.

T: And now it’s high time to speak about teenagers’ subcultures. Your mini-projects. But first guess who are they? (Презентация учителя. Слайд 6).

A young person who dresses in a shocking way to express his or her identity. He or she has brightly coloured hair and wears metal chains. The person is thought to rebel against the society. Their music is very aggressive. They listen rock. Their music was designed to shock. They reject everything. (Punks)

A young person who dresses in clothes of black and pink colours. They are very thin. They wear very tight trousers or jeans and trainers or slippers with black and white lines.

The members of this subculture wear the blackest black, with a lot of silver jewellery and have very black hair. They look as thin and pale as possible. The members gather together to talk about being vampires and about the end of the world. They often go to the graveyards, crypts and other foul places.

They are the members of the teenagers’ subculture which is the part of Hip – Hop. It is first of all a special reading of a text. Rightly used rythm, the sounds’ pronunciation, the special intonation give the effect of melody. There are no special clothes but very often they wear baggy jeans with baggy, hooded tops, loose – T-shirts and silver or black metal jewellery or chains.

6. Подведение итогов урока. Домашнее задание.

T: My dear friends! The things we do, clothes we wear, food we eat, the traditions we absolve,as well as memories, hobbies and your subcultures make us who we are: unique and special people. But I want to say the main thing to my mind. I think the conclusion of our lesson should be the words “Handsome is as handsome does!” – “Красив тот, кто красиво поступает!” (Презентация учителя. Слайд 10).

T: Now boys and girls! During the lesson we have done a lot: you know the words, the phrases about subcultures. You even can say a few sentences about particular subculture. And your hometask is to write a short composition on the topics: (Презентация учителя. Слайд 11.)
