Today we are going to talk about holidays and celebrations. There are a lot of holidays throughout the year. Some holidays are very popular, some are not so popular, but many children find them very important.
2. Речевая зарядка:
– Do you like celebrations?
– What is your favourite holiday?
– What associations do you have with the word “Celebration”?
(As for me celebration means day-off, rest and so on.)
3. Look at the calendar and say:
– What are these days?
– When do people celebrate them?
4. Listening.
The 27th of November is Mother's Day.
– Do you know when the British and the American people celebrate this Day?
(2nd Sunday hi May.)
– Listen to the tape.
How do British and American children congratulate their parents and make this day special for their mothers.
– And what about you? What do you do for your mothers on this day?
5. Projects
Well, why not to invent some new holidays.
Celebrations are always great fun.
– Present your own holidays you would like to have.
