Задачи урока:
- развитие навыков чтения;
- формирование навыков говорения
- развитие навыков аудирования
Оборудование и оснащение – раздаточный материал, снеговик, компьютерная презентация (технические средства обучения): компьютер, компьютерный проектор, интерактивная доска, магнитофон, аудиокассета аудиозапись.
Время - 45 минут.
Учебная группа: учащиеся 6 класса.
Ход урока
1. Речевая зарядка:
T: Answer my questions:
(Слайды 1, 2 приложение 1)
- What date is it today?
- How do the British call this day?
(раздаётся стук в дверь)
T: Who’s that? Come in. Oh, it’s a one horse open sleigh.
(запряжённая лошадка с Санта Клаусом и гномом входят в класс, звучит песня “ Колокольчики”)
Р: Let’s sing “ Jingle Bells”(учащиеся поют песню)
T: What does this song about?
2. Основной этап:
А) Развитие навыков аудирования
T: As you’ve guessed, today we’re going to speak about Christmas.
What kind of holiday is it?
What do religious people celebrate on Christmas Day?
Do you want to know the story of Jesus Christ’s birth?
Учащимся предлагается прослушать историю рождения Иисуса и сделать задание
(слайды 3- 14 приложение 1) (на доску выносятся незнакомые слова: shepherds, journey, stable, wise men, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Herod, Joseph)
Т:Then look and listen. Be ready to do a task after the story.

T: Now look at the blackboard and tell me if sentences are true or false.
- Jesus’ mother was Anna.
- Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem.
- They stayed in a hotel there.

- King Herod sent his men to find the God’s son.

T: We know that Christmas is a religious holiday. But kind of holiday is it either?
Р: I think, it’s a family holiday too.
T: Yes, I completely agree with you. Why not to read a text how the British celebrate Christmas.

Т: As we’ve mentioned Christmas is a family holiday, so the British have a special dinner. Do you know what they eat on Christmas Day?
Now imagine that you’re in Britain, you are going to have a Christmas dinner with your British friends. Make dialogues about what they eat. (приложение 1 слайды 23-23)

T: We’ve learned a lot about Christmas traditions in Britain. But how do people congratulate each other if they live in different places?
Right you are, they use cards. Let’s look at Christmas cards which they send.

T: Oh, what do these figures mean? I think, they’re closely connected with the story about Christmas cards which we read at the previous lesson. Let’s find out what they mean.

T: Without doubt, there are lots of Christmas entertainments but today we try to have that one which is so popular among British children, Christmas jokes.
Answer the questions, remember your answers should be full of humour and then we compare your answers with those ones which were given by British children.

T: Christmas is a winter festival. It’s fun to sledge, skate and ski. But a lot of children like to make snowmen. And I have a present for you. It’s a snowman, it’s magic, it can speak. This magic snowman wants to congratulate us on Christmas and New Year. Listen!
