Цель: обобщить знания учащихся по теме “Reading? It’s great!”, применяя частично метод проектно-исследовательских работ учащихся, которые способствуют развитию социально-коммуникативных способностей личности ученика и обогащает знания по предмету.

Задачи:

  • Образовательные: углубить и расширить знания учащихся по данной теме; формировать навыки самостоятельного решения коммуникативных задач, искать пути решения определенных проблем.
  • Развивающие: активизировать навыки диалогической и монологической речи; стимулировать речемыслительную деятельность учащихся.
  • Воспитательные: повысить интерес учащихся в английскому языку, к английской литературе; создать максимально благоприятные условия для раскрытия и проявления творческих способностей учащихся; выявлять их индивидуальность в исследовательской работе.

Оборудование:

  • классная доска, заранее оформленная к уроку;
  • портреты писателей;
  • портреты главных персонажей книг;
  • компьютерное оборудование;
  • музыкальный центр.

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент (2 минуты)

Teacher:

Hello, boys and girls!
How are you today?
What date is today?
Are you ready to start our work?

I am glad to hear that you are ready. Let’s start our lesson. Today we are going to talk about books, asking and answering different questions.

(В момент повторения изученного материала учащимися, учитель отмечает отсутствующих и оформляет журнал к уроку). (2 минуты)

2. Фронтальный опрос учащихся (по итогам повторения) (5 минут)

Look at the blackboard and say the theme of our lesson.

Pupil 1: “Reading? It’s great!”

Teacher: Do you agree? Is reading important?

Pupil 2: Yes, I think books help educate and discover new things.

Pupil 3: I think books can tell us a lot about lives of famous people.

Pupil 4: I believe that books can tell a lot of teenagers’ problems.

Teacher: Yes, I know reading is important because it is a perfect way not to be alone. Books are our friends.

Do you recognize them?

Pupil 5: They are well-known Russian poets and writers: A.S. Pushkin, M.Yu. Lermontov, A.P. Chekhov.

Teacher: And now do you recognize famous British and American writers on these pictures

(Портреты В.Шекспира, А. Конан Дойля, Ф.Купера, Р.Киплинга.)

Do you know anything about them?

Pupil 1: Yes, of course. I really like books about adventures Especially in the past. My favourite writer is James Fenimor Cooper. He wrote stories about Indians.

Pupil 2: And I like books about criminals and detectives and the police. I think police work is interesting. My favorite books are stories about Sherlock Holmes and his friend Doctor Watson. They are the best detectives in the world!

Teacher: Thanks! And now we have word-training.

3. Речевая зарядка (вопросительные предложения, быстрый темп, о чтении, авторах, книгах). (2 минуты)

Pupil 1: What kind of books do you like?

Pupil 2: Do you like fairy-tales?

Pupil 3: Would you like to read “The jungle book”?

Pupil 4: Who is your favorite character? Why?

Pupil 5: Did you read a book “The Treasure Island” by Stevenson.

Teacher: There are many sorts of books. Choose and say which would you like to read?

6. Обобщающее повторение изученного материала. (Элементы проектной работы)

а) Выступление учащихся (защита проектных работ) (15 минут)

Teacher: Now we are on the book fair and our pupils are ready to talk about their favorite books. They have prepared a project “Famous books for children”

Pupil 1: (идет представление книги Дж. Роулинг “Гарри Поттер и философский камень” компьютерная презентация).

The title of the book is “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”(sold as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the USA) by J.K. Rowling. The Harry Potter books are seven novels about a boy who learns his magic powers.

Like her character, Harry Potter, Rowling’s life is like a fairy tale. She lived with her little daughter in a small cold flat in Edinburgh, and every day she went to a warm cafe to write her book.

Pupil 2: This is the book in which frightening and often unnatural things happen. There are many magic things in this book.

Pupil 3: The main character is a boy, Harry Potter. He is very clever and brave boy.

There are many ghosts and much magic in the book.

Pupil 4: I like this book because I like books of magic and adventures. I think that J. Rowling is a good children’s writer. She wrote a lot of stories about Harry and his friends. I recommend this book to the people who like adventures, magic things.

Teacher: Thank you for your performance about J. Rowling and her book .

Now it’s time to talk about Dmitri Yemets and his book “Tanya Grotter”.

Pupi 1: D.Yemets is a russian writer. He wrote several storties about “Tanya Grotter”. This book is about a girl that was born in taiga and she was a magician in the “Tibidox ” school. It’s very exciting to read about magic things and magic people: the evil witch Chyuma-del-Tort, a boy – Bab Yagun, Vanya Valyalkin and others.

Pupi 2: I think this book is really interesting and very exciting. All children like to read about magic things and I recommend this book to everyone who likes books about ghosts, witches and other magic things. I finish my presentation and here are some pictures from these books.

Teacher: My dear friends!

I say thanks to our pupils. I know most teenagers have different opinions on reading. But I hope you will read these books because it is a perfect way to have fun!

б) Обсуждение материала по итогам выступления. (7 минут)

I know you have some questions to your classmates who have just presented this project.

Далее идут вопросы к выступающим:

Pupil 1: Do you think Harry Potter is a smart and brave boy?

Pupil 2: Where can I find any information about Rowling’s books?

Pupil 3: Has she got any awards for these books?

Pupil 4: Do you think the characters of Harry Potter and Tanya Grotter have something in common?

Pupil 5: Do you think the heroes are real?

7. Подведение итогов (5 минут)

(Выставление и комментирование оценок, объяснение нового домашнего задания, заранее написанного на доске.)

8. Рефлексия (1 минута)

Урок заканчивается песней.
