Учитель: Good morning children. We have an unusual lesson today. Our lesson will be devoted to three countries the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, the USA. The pupils were divided into three groups and they worked hard on projects about these countries. The children's task was to get the information about the geographical position, history, literature and culture of the countries, to draw a map and to make an album. Their second task was to learn about the traditions and holidays of these countries and to dramatize one of them. Children worked hard and today we'll see the result .But at the very beginning I would like to know "Do you know the symbols of the symbols of the countries?" Your task is to find the symbols of your country and to tell us about them. The first country is the UK of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

1. This is the flag of Great Britain. The British people call it "The Union Jack". It is red white and blue.
2. This is the Tower of London. The Tower of London was a fortress, a palace, a prison and the King's Zoo. Now it is the museum. There always black ravens in the Tower of London. People believe that London will be rich while the ravens live there.
3. This is St.Paul's Cathedral. The famous English architect Sir Christopher Wren built it in the 17th century after the Great Fire of London, it took him 35 years. It is a very beautiful building with many columns and towers.
4. This is the Trafalgar Square. There is a tall column in the middle of it. This is a monument to Admiral Nelson.
Four bronze lions look at the square from the monument. There are two beautiful fountains in the square.
5. This is the traditional British bus. It is called the double-decker.
6. This is the red telephone box.
7. This is the traditional British food: bacon and eggs, porridge, tea with milk, toast and marmalade.

1. This is the national flag of America. It is called "The Stars and Stripes". As there are 50 states in the USA, there are 50 stars on the American flag; one star for each state. There is one stripe for each of the first colonies of the USA.
2. This is the Statue of Liberty. France gave it to America in 1884 as a symbol of friendship. The Statue is in New York on Liberty Island.
3. The eagle became the official national symbol in 1782.lt has an olive branch /a symbol of peace/and arrows/a symbol of strength/.You can see the eagle on the back of the dollar bill.
4. This is White House. It is the official residence of the American President.
5. This is the traditional American food; hamburgers and cheeseburgers roast turkey and chips.

Третья группа учащихся рассказывает о символах России.

1. This is the national flag of Russia. It has 3stripes.The stripes are white, blue and red. These colours have always been symbolic in Russia; white-noble and sincere, blue-honest and devoted red-love and bravery.
2. This is the birch tree. You can find these trees everywhere. People sing beautiful songs about birch trees and plant them near their houses. In old Russian towns people often call young lovely girls little birch trees /beryozka, beryozonka/
3. This is the Kremlin the historical center of Moscow; it is the oldest part of Moscow. It was built as a fortress on the bank of the Moscow River. It has 20 towers. It is a symbol of Moscow.
4. This is the traditional Russian food porridge, caviar, honey, pancakes.

Учитель: Thank you, children. I see you know the symbols of your countries. And now you will show us the result of your work on the projects. As for me I have prepared some tests for you. Boys and girls be attentive! You must not only listen to the information about the geographical position of the country but do the test at the same time. Let's start! The first project is the UK.

К доске выходит первая группа учащихся, которая работала над проектом, посвященным Великобритании.
Первый ученик рассказывает о географическом положении страны. Учащиеся, которые не работали над этим проектом, слушают рассказ и выполняют тест. (См. Приложение 4) Затем подготовленный первой группой альбом о Великобритании передается группе, которая работала над другой страной. Учащиеся по очереди задают вопросы по истории, литературе, культуре и знаменитым людям Великобритании. Вторая группа, пользуясь альбомом, отвечает на вопросы. В конце защиты проекта о Великобритании ученики рассказывают о Рождестве и поют песню.
Таким образом, по этому плану защищают свои проекты две другие группы.

Ученик: In England Christmas Day is celebrated on the 25-th of December. The English people send and receive Christmas cards, gifts, presents. All families gather together for Christmas dinner. They eat chicken: turkey, duck, goose and pudding pies for the sweet.

Ученик: Now we shall tell you about Halloween Day. Many people believed in devils and witches. Children put on masks and go to the streets to beg. Children celebrate this Day now too.
Halloween is the day or evening before All Saint's Day.
American children celebrate Beggar's Night as Irish children did in the 17-th century. They dress up in Halloween costumes and go out into the streets to beg.
They go from house to house and knock on the door/. They ring bells and say «Trick or treat!» meaning «Give us a treat or we'll play a joke with you».
People give the children sweets, cookies and apples.

Ученик: Russian people celebrate many winter holidays. In our country winter is rich in festivals. Though Russian winter is cold, frosty and snowy, it is a time to celebrate New Year's Eve, Christmas and Mastlenitsa. Now we will tell you about Mastlenitsa. We celebrate it from the end of January till the beginning of Easter. This holiday has deep roots. People used to have carnivals, sledge, climb a pole for a gift and cook pancakes.

We don't eat pan-cakes so long
We want to eat them very strong.

My dear sister cooks pancakes
Like a master of all days.

She cooked so many cakes
Every size and any taste.

She puts them on the tray
She is very-very gay.

On Sunday we have «forgiving day». People ride a troika, play snowballs and say:
