Урок по теме "Who's who"

Цель: изучение лексики и умение применять её в речи;

Задачи:

• повторение изученных слов по теме «Описание внешности»;
• развитие умений аудирования;
• знакомство с героями англоязычной детской литературы;
• развитие умений речевого взаимодействия в игре;
• развитие умений поискового чтения;
• развитие техники чтения вслух;
• развитие умений вести беседу о внешности людей (диалог  - расспрос);
• развитие умений продуктивного письма – текст – описание любимого героя книги (по плану).

Оборудование: проектор, ноутбук, презентация, учебник.

План:

1. Начальный этап

ХОД РАБОТЫ

I. Начальный этап

1. Приветствие

– Good morning, students. Sit down please. Glad to see you. How are you?

2. Введение в речевую ситуацию

– What did you do yesterday? Did you read a book? What kind of books do you prefer to read? What is your favourite book? What is your favourite character?
– So, Reading is not only popular in Russia but in Britain as well. What famous characters from English books do you know? (Harry Potter, Peter Pan…)
– Today we’re going to meet some of them and to meet new characters from English books. Look at the screen, please.

II. Основной этап

1. Актуализация ранее изученного материала

Слайд 1 Who’s who

Слайд 2 Alice and the Duchess (“Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carrol) [3,4]

– What are their names?
– Which book are they from?
– Who is the author?

(Эти же вопросы задаются на следующих слайдах)

Слайд 3 Scrooge and Bob Cratchit (“A Christmas Carol” by Ch.Dickens) [5,6]

Слайд 4 Dorothy and the Wicked Witch (“The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” by L.Frank Baum) [7,8]

– What positive/negative characters can you name?
– What character do you like best? Why? Use the table.

2. Развитие умений аудирования

– Now, we are going to listen and revise the words which will help us to describe these characters,  and their appearance. Ex.2, p.58

– You may see all these words on the screen.

Now please choose a character. And your classmate  will ask you yes/no questions to find out who the character is. Use the module on the screen.

   – No, he hasn’t.

4. – Is it Bob Cratchit?
   – Yes, it is.

Угадавший загадывает своего персонажа. Учитель может начать с себя, загадав своего героя.

3. Развитие умения прогнозировать содержание текста по загаданному началу; развитие умений поискового чтения

– Not only we have a favourite character but Clara and Fiona also have.
– Look at Ex. 3, p.28
– Here is a dialogue. Please, look through it and say where they are: at the theatre or at the party? (Аt the theatre); Where do you prefer to go?
– Which characters were in the play? (Alice and the Duchess)
– So, let’s check your answers and listen to it.
– You were right. Well done.

4. Развитие умений поискового и изучающего чтения

– Now, please, let’s read the dialogue by yourself once more and mark the sentences True or False. You can see them on the screen.

5. Развитие техники чтения вслух

– Let’s take roles and act the dialogue.

6. Развитие умений вести беседу о внешности людей (диалог-расспрос)

– We can not only describe the characters, but our relatives, parents, friends as well. Now you will work in pairs. One of you will ask the questions about your friends or a family and your partner will answer, then you’ll change your roles.  Look at the screen. This table can help you make up the conversation.

1. – What does he/she … look like?
   – She/he is tall with long brown hair.

2. – What is she/he wearing?
   – She/he is wearing jeans and hats.

3. – What is he/she like?
   – He/She is kind and polite.

(Работают в парах, учитель проходит и слушает, просит 2 пары рассказать вслух)

1. Подведение итогов

– Thanks for your work! What new words have you learnt for today? What new characters from English books do you remember?

2. Объяснение домашнего задания

– At home you’re going to write down a short paragraph about your favourite character in the book. Use the plan on the screen or on your desks you have the same plan.
