2. Просмотр видеофрагмента “A Journey Through Fairyland” с отрывками сказок Диснея

Fairy Tales in Our Life”

Fairy Tales in Our Life

Fairy tales play an important role in our lives. This is the magic and wonderful world of our childhood. I really like the statement of a famous American television producer and screenwriter Mimi Schir: "You know when you were a little kid and you believed in fairy tales, that fantasy of what your life would be, white dress, Prince Charming who would carry you away to a castle on a beautiful hill. You would lie in bed at night and close your eyes and you would complete and have utter faith. Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming, they were so close you could taste them, but eventually you grow up one day, you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears."

So fairy tales is the view from our childhood. Tales don’t only remind of it but also give us a hope for something light and pleasant which could happen in our life. Each person believes in his or her own fairy tale. Someone wants to be like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty. Each of us sometimes feels himself like a character of the fairytale. There are a lot of fairytales but each person chooses only one where he or she would like to spend his own life. The thing is that each fairytale has positive and negative characters and it depends on the person which character suits him most.
Fairytales surround us all the time sometimes we do not realize it. Most people believe that fairy tales have some magic and help us in our everyday life. They say some people even live in a fairy tale. That means forgetting about real life, real problems. Anyway if person wants to live in a fairytale it’s his own choice but it makes you further of the reality. I also would like to say that sometimes at the moments of misfortune and misunderstanding  there must be something which will give to us hope. So fairytales must exist in our lives.

Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer”:

You have just seen the extract from the animated cartoon under the title “Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer”. The cartoon was shoot in the USA in 1949.
Everybody knows the story about “Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer”.  But what is the origin of the story? Who wrote it and when? We are going to tell you some facts about it.
The original story was written by Bob May in 1938.  It had been the story of Bob's life. Life always had to be different for Bob. Small when he was a kid, Bob was often bullied by other boys. He was too little at the time to compete in sports. He was often called names he'd rather not remember.
Bob completed college, married his loving wife and was grateful to get his job as a copywriter. Then he was blessed with his little girl.
But it was all short-lived. Evelyn, his wife, got ill with cancer and died just days before Christmas in 1938. Bob struggled to give hope to his child, for whom he couldn't even afford to buy a Christmas gift. But if he couldn't buy a gift, he was determined a make one - a storybook! Bob finished the book just in time to give it to his little girl on Christmas Day. Bob had created an animal character in his own mind and told the animal’s story to his little daughter Barbara to give her comfort and hope.
The book became popular at once and more than six million copies of Rudolph had been printed and distributed by 1946.
But the story doesn't end there. Bob's brother-in-law, Johnny Marks, made a song adaptation to Rudolph.  It was released in 1949 and had a phenomenal success.
Nowadays there are some versions of Rudolf story. All of them are considered the official ones. And now you can see one of them.

How Rudolf Got His Red Nose”

Alfie Elf: Good afternoon. Welcome to our show!
Ellie Elf: Welcome to our show!
Alfie Elf: (продолжая) It’s a wonderful show, a magical show…
Ellie Elf: A magical show!
Alfie Elf: …and it’s all about…
Ellie Elf: It’s all about… (произносит ‘tadah!’) …me!
Alfie Elf: (обращаясь к зрителям) Please excuse my friend, ladies and gentlemen. (к Элли) It’s not about you, Ellie! Ladies and gentlemen, this story is all about someone you know well… Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer. The story begins in a land far, far away. The Land of Christmas…
Звучит песня “In a land far, far away” (Приложение 1).

Dasher: One… two… three… four… five… six…
Rudolph: Hello, Dasher!
Dasher: Oh, no. It’s Titch.
Rudolph: I’m not Titch, I’m Rudolph. What are you playing?
Dasher: Hide and seek, can’t you see?
Rudolph: Can I play?
Vixen: (из того места, где спрятался) But we’ve already started!
Blitzen: (из того места, где спрятался) We’re in the middle of a game!
Cupid: (из того места, где спрятался) There’s nowhere left to hide!
Blitzen: (из того места, где спрятался) And Dasher knows where we’re hiding now!
Vixen: You’ve spoilt it, Baby Face!
Donder: He always spoils it.
Rudolph: My name’s not Baby Face. And I didn’t mean to spoil it.
Vixen: (со злобой) Well, you have!
Cupid: (меняя тему) Is it chocolate cake time?
Other reindeer: (вместе громко) Yeah! It’s chocolate cake time!
Cupid: Get the chocolate cake, Blitzen!
Blitzen: Who wants a piece?
Dasher: (поднимает руку) Me!
Cupid: (поднимает руку) And me!
Donder: (поднимает руку) Yummy, yummy!
Rudolph: Can I have some, please?
Blitzen: There’s none left.
Other reindeer: (вместе) There’s none left!
Rudolph: (расстроено) That’s a shame… I like chocolate cake.

Fairy: (ищет кого-то) Where are you? Where is my friend? Rudolf, where are you? Let’s play something interesting together.
Rudolf: (грустно) I’m here. But I don’t want to have fun today.
Fairy: (взволнованно) Oh, my little friend! What’s happened?
Rudolf: I’m feeling so left out. Other reindeer don’t want to play with me. They tease me and call ‘Titch’ and ‘Baby Face’.
Fairy: (успокаивающе) Don’t take it so hard! You are the best reindeer I’ve ever know! How can I help you? What can I do? Well, let me see… Got it! I’ll grant you a wish with my magic wand! What would you like to get, my little friend?
Rudolf: Oh, I really don’t know… Maybe a piece of tasty chocolate cake.
Fairy: As you like!
На экране видеофрагмент “Dance of the forest animals” (Приложение 3).

Alfie Elf: I’m so happy now! Our Rudolf is not alone. For all of that he has a best friend!
Ellie Elf: Yes. But not everyone is so happy as you. The other reindeers didn’t like Rudolph having Fairy as his special friend. They were jealous because of all the lovely things she did for him. Naughty reindeer, Donder, decided he would like to try out the magic wand for himself.
Alfie Elf: Oh, my God! I can’t believe it!
Ellie Elf: The forest animals and the snowmen warned him how dangerous it would be to use the wand. But Donder didn’t took their advice and stole the wand.
Звучит песня “Donder, don’t do that” (Приложение 4).

Fairy: Where is my magic wand?!!! Rudolf, please, help me to find it.
Rudolf:  (расстроено) I can’t find it.
Fairy: I’ll have to leave you alone for some time and look for it.
Rudolf: Please, hurry. It’s getting dark. I’ll wait for you.

Rudolf: Oh, that’s who has stolen a magic wand. You are a thief. Give back it, now!
Vixen: (показывая на хвост) Ha ha! Look! Rudolph’s got a blue tail!
Other reindeer: (вместе поют) Rudolph the blue-tailed reindeer, Had a very bright blue tail!
Donder: What like this? Abracadabra!

Cupid: (показывая на Рудольфа) Ha ha! Look! Rudolph’s got green spotted skin!
Other reindeer: (вместе поют) Rudolph the green spotted reindeer, Had very green spotted skin!
Donder: What like this? Abracadabra!

Blitzen: (показывая на Рудольфа) Ha ha! Look! Rudolph’s got a red nose!
Other reindeer: (вместе поют) Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, Had a very shiny nose…!
Rudolph: Oh, no! I don’t like it! Change it back!
Fairy: Goodness me! What’s going on?
Rudolph: Fairy, look at my nose!
Fairy: (строго обращаясь к Дондеру) What have you done?
Donder: (испуганно) I only borrowed it.
Fairy: Borrowed it, indeed! What do you say?
Donder: (немного помолчав, тихо произносит) …Sorry.
Fairy: (строго) Say it again.
Donder: (громче) Sorry.
Fairy: (поворачивается к Рудольфу) Don’t worry, Rudolph. Your nose will soon be back to normal.
Звучит песня “Santa’s in a terrible state” Приложение 5).
Santa: (очень расстроенным голосом) What will I do? What will I do? The headlights on my sleigh are broken. The garage can’t fix them until Boxing Day! What will I do on this foggy Christmas Eve?
Santa: My, my, who is this bright-nosed little chap?
Rudolf: My name is Rudolf, Sir.
Santa: I’ve got a special job for you, Rudolf. You’ll guide my sleigh that night and your red nose will show us the way.
Rudolf: Thank you, Sir. I’ve always have such a dream.

The Santa’s sleigh”.
Alfie Elf: It’s Santa’s sleigh. Santa, Rudolf, Fairy and other reindeer are there. Buy!

Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw him
You would even say it glows

All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say
Rudolph, with your nose so bright
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight

Then all the reindeers loved him
As they shouted out with glee
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
You'll go down in history

По окончании песни учащиеся 4 классов хором говорят присутствующим: “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Buy!”, после чего занимают свои места в зале.
Учитель благодарит учащихся за хорошую работу и сообщает о завершении мероприятия.
