Цель: задействовать учащихся в творческих заданиях на смекалку, скорость и знания, проявить интерес к биографии и достижениям М.Ломоносова.

Задачи:

  • побуждать детей к активному участию;
  • проявить интерес ребят к изучению английского языка и жизни М.В. Ломоносова;
  • способствовать созданию положительных эмоциональных переживаний и сплочению детей в команды;
  • развить навыки самостоятельной работы и работы в парах;
  • развить умение обыгрывать роли согласно ситуации в ролевой игре, а также умение использовать лексико-грамматические знания по теме в устной речи.

Формы работы: индивидуальная, парная, фронтальная.

Оборудование: презентация Microsoft Point, карточки с заданиями.

ХОД МЕРОПРИЯТИЯ

Teacher: Презентация. Слайд 1. Good afternoon, dear students and guests! Today we are going to talk about very famous Russian scientist Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov!

Teacher: 2 слайд. Now you can see the question “Who was he?” on the slide. Choose the correct variants.

Teacher: Before listening to the biography of this famous scientist, look at the glossary which everyone has got on the desk. (Приложение 1) Учащиеся просматривают глоссарий к заданиям.

Teacher: Now take the cards with the task. I’ll tell you Lomonosov’s biography and you should rearrange the sentences in the correct order. Then mark the sentences “True” or False. (Приложение 2)

Учитель рассказывает о жизни Михаила Васильевича Ломоносова, ученики выполняют индивидуальное задание на карточках: 1. Нужно расставить предложения о М. Ломоносове в хронологическом порядке, 2. Нужно отметить утверждения «Верно»/ «Неверно».

Teacher: 4 слайд. Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov was a Russian polymath, scientist and writer, who made important contributions to literature, education, and science. His spheres of science were natural science, chemistry, physics, mineralogy, history, art, philology, optical devices and others. Lomonosov was also a poet, who created the basis of the modern Russian literary language.

5 слайд. He was born in the village of Denisovka in the Arkhangelsk Governorate in the Far North of Russia.

6 слайд. Learning was young Lomonosov's passion. He had been taught to read as a boy by his neighbor Ivan Shubny, and he spent every spare moment with his books. For many years the only books he had access to were religious texts.

7 слайд. In 1730, when he was nineteen, Lomonosov joined a caravan traveling to Moscow. Not long after arriving, Lomonosov obtained admission into the Slavic Greek Latin Academy.

8 слайд. After three years in Moscow he was sent to Kiev to study for one year at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. He quickly became dissatisfied with the education he was receiving there, and returned to Moscow several months ahead of schedule, resuming his studies there. He completed a twelve-year study course in only five years, graduating at the top of his class. In 1736, Lomonosov was awarded a scholarship to Saint Petersburg State University. He plunged into his studies and was rewarded with a two-year grant to study abroad at the University of Marburg, in Germany.

9 слайд. Lomonosov quickly mastered the German language, and in addition to philosophy, seriously studied chemistry, discovered the works of 17th century English theologian and natural philosopher, Robert Boyle, and even began writing poetry. He also developed an interest in German literature.
During his residence in Germany he fell in love with Catharina’s daughter Elisabeth Christine Zilch. They were married in June 1740.

10 слайд. Lomonosov returned to Russia in 1741. A year later he was named adjutant to the Russian Academy of Science in the physics department. In May 1743, Lomonosov was accused, arrested, and held under house arrest for eight months. He was released and pardoned in January 1744.

11 слайд. Lomonosov was made a full member of the Academy, and named professor of chemistry, in 1745. He established the Academy's first chemistry laboratory. Eager to improve Russia’s educational system, in 1755, Lomonosov joined his patron Count Ivan Shuvalov in founding the Moscow State University.

12 слайд. He made a lot of discoveries in Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry, Geography, Mosaicism, poetry.

13 слайд. In 1761, he was elected a foreign member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. In 1764, Lomonosov was appointed to the position of secretary of state. He died one year later in Saint Petersburg. Most of his accomplishments were unknown outside Russia until long after his death.

14 слайд. Moscow State University was renamed ‘’M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University’’ in his honor in 1940.

Teacher: Excellent! And now it’s time to feel yourselves living in the 18th century. Change your seats, choose a partner. Work in pairs. Student A. Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov. Student B. A journalist. The journalist is interviewing the scientist about his life and accomplishments.

Учащиеся выбираю себе партнера, снова объединяются в пары и обыгрывают ролевые ситуации. Один из них – журналист, другой – Михаил Васильевич Ломоносов. Их задача – обыграть интервью. Учитель слушает каждую из пар, оценивая оригинальность и грамотность выступления.
